What do you think? Will SpaceX launch Flight 5 without a license? Should they do this or play it safe? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

It’s doesn’t help that the FAA administrator has no aerospace industry experience, unless you count having flown first class.

The rocket needs to be at least 16 years old to get a license. Sheesh, everybody knows that...

Everything moves slowly at the FAA. I’m a grounded pilot currently waiting 7months for my medical review to be conducted. Can’t do $hit about it. 🤷‍♂️

Prediction: Tower 1 will become a catch-only tower. Tower 2 will become the primary launch tower - its flame trench eliminates a number of issues with the current orbital launch mount which has no flame diverter. SpaceX will not launch without a license.

I like your animation, especially the exaggerated effects of combustion instability at shutdown. Thanks for the details and nice job production team

Thanks for including Rocket Lab to the end as not only doing SpaceX makes these videos more interesting. Following occasionally what's up with Rocket Lab is cool as it has a packed launch schedule often of novel stuff such as the world's 1st commercial Venus probe in December. Liked this video because of that.

We need to stop tip-toing over tadpoles and get this program running full speed, full time. Accept that this is a vital mission, and create another park for wildlife further up the coast.

🙋‍♂️I am one of those people who annoys their family by constantly talking about space. 😅

Regarding SN8 and the "illegal launch", what I remember from back then is that the FAA said: "OK, fine this time, but do something like this again, and we'll shut down the WHOLE spaceX operation completely". Thats a significant threat. They cannot afford to do it again.

I love at 6:51. When they are rolling the booster 5 you can see the Big Dipper on the left side perfectly.

Can totally imagine in 30 years time, your kids are presenting WAI, they be like "Welcome to What About It, Mars Base updates!" 😃

I think it's in SpaceX's best interest to wait for a license. Continue building rockets and submit more paperwork for launch licenses. Maybe when 3 rockets are ready for immediate launch, the FAA will get the idea.

As much as i would like to see spacex snubb the FAA it would not be worth it.

Don't forget that Rocket Lab is a public company on the NYSE. You can invest NOW in what could be the next SpaceX.

Before Starship I couldn't even think that 2 stacked steel barrels can look this magnificent

I think spacex is going to change the flight plan for IFT 5 . They will drop the booster catch attempt entirely and just use the same plan as for IFT-4. They will get quick approval from the FAA and that will allow them to test starship new heat shield and re-entry. The catch attempt will be in IFT-6.

I always wondered if it would be beneficial for SpaceX to try and setup a second star base in another country down south, like Mexico or a another central American country with coastline access that would have less regulations and allow SpaceX to test like they want to.

They should launch flight 5 in the same profile as flight 4. The FAA said they are cleared to do so any time. Space X still has things to work out from flight 4, and then they could try the catch on flight 6...

I think that SpaceX should build a water containment wall around the launch pad and that way they can filter all the water 💧 and it would be pump to a water tower for storage until the next flight.
