My skin color is brown and I always fear that sunlight will make me tan and skin dull .But now I find going in sunlight has many benefits.

Because I have brown skin. I was told that the sun doesn't penetrate through my skin to help me as well. My vitamin D levels were at 10 at the beginning of 2023. My endocrinologist told me to start taking vitamin D pills. But, it wasn't going up fast enough after several months. Then she said to take 2 pills a day at 10k mg a day. It went up just a little. I have not seen her this year so far to see were my levels are.

I have a little melasma and yes, I'm afraid of the sun but I'm taking a 20 minute walk at around 7:30 am to get my vitamin D and I also take it in supplement with k2. Is that ok? I have a little light brown skin.
