Walking warm up to use today

Moving your body in different directions before heading out on a walk can be a great way to stave off pain and help you to enjoy it!

Just a couple of repetitions of some simple movements can set you up for success
If you've been following me for any length of time- you likely know I am a huge prominent of moving in different directions like sideways and backwards

It is a great way to activate the muscles of the hip which help to support your joints as you walk. It's also a great way to challenge balance which can help to prevent some compensations

⚠️Use support as needed for this to prevent loss of balance and compensations.

You can make these more challenging by increasing the speed and/or the number of repetitions V Make them easier by reducing the speed, repetitions and/or add support

If you have not yet signed up for the free 3 day walking fork out challenge- I highly recommend giving it a go as you'll learn some of the best movements to help you walk with ease.

Can't believe your grandma is 81. She looks fantastic. Moves well, too.

Alyssa, you're a gift from the Lord! I'm at my wit's end, I face knee and hip replacements and here in South Africa the waiting list is years long for each replacement! It's 2am, and I've just received your valuable vlog for the first time, hallelujah! The Lord bless you and keep you 😊😊❤😊😊

I practised and it works fine. Thank you so much ! I did 5 km again, in the woods with beautiful sunshine in spring with my dog. My dog looked bewildered at me practising this exercise. It is a greyhound like hunting dog who needs to become walked a lot ! It took some time, three hours instead of one, but at least we had a beautiful walk again.
Last year I, 70 years old, was still able to do up to 15 km daily in the woods but because I had to stay in bed for about 4 weeks, my capability of walking declined seriously and I gained weight too. Thanks to your videos I hope to regain walking capability again.
You have a very sweet and fit grandma ! ❤

Thank you. This is a great warmup. Shared this with my husband and sister-in-law who are joining me in Spain in September for a 88 mile hike over 6 days.

Phenomenal. So practical.

They’ve filmed people in assisted living…..what causes falls? It’s shown to be when feet are crossed, misstep means topple over.

So, get in touch with feet. Practice. Strengthen.

These exercise steps are clever, easily remembered. Increase awareness. Feets, don’t fail me now.
