Dr Nadia Rajaram is an epidemiologist with over 10 years of research experience. She began her career as a researcher championing sexual and reproductive rights of women in Asia and the Pacific. She then worked to understand the barriers to seeking cancer treatment, as well as the impact of cancer on the quality-of-life for Asian women. Most notably, she designed and
conducted the first clinical trial in Asia that studied the relationship between consuming soy and decreased risk of breast cancer among perimenopausal Malaysian women. Currently, she is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Sunway Centre for Planetary Health. Her research is primarily focused on nutrition, food insecurity and its’ intersection with the health of the planet and
its people.

Izzeady Amir is the Managing Director of DIRIBUMI Ecological Services based in Taiping, Malaysia. With a background in environmental science and permaculture, he has worked with many grassroots communities in rural areas primarily with the indigenous communities in developing a resilience agroecosystem that includes paddy, agroforestry, and vegetable gardens. Having developed a keen interest in the interrelationship between human, biodiversity and ecosystem services, he has been appointed as a secretariat for the Community Seeds Reserve Initiative, a platform to gather seed savers across the country. He was selected as a Youth Biodiversity Leader under the ASEAN Youth Biodiversity Programme in 2020 and is now the coordinator of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network Peninsular Malaysia chapter.
