I saw this during the hyperinflation in third world countries. at that time products had no tags so you had to ask for the price. hyperinflation is coming to America

If Walmart starts changing it's prices every 10 seconds I'm going to shop somewhere else.

In Brazil we had to run to the supermarkets right after receiving salary. Two days later prices were 5% - 25% higher. It was wild...

There had been a few times going late into Walmart and fill a buggy up. Then went to check out and they didn't have any cashiers only those self check outs. And I wasn't going to run an entire buggy full through a self-check out. So left the buggy and went home.

So hack all of them, change the price to $0.01 across the store. Change all of the scan options to point you to a competitor.

these tags are alrady common in nicer groceries stores and LIDL here in europe, but theres also laws about shown price has to be the same price at the checkout, i belive that should be the same case in the US

The growing criminality all self created will now only expand as prices continue to rise and zero consequences for looting

im reminded about bablyon 5 and the character londo criticizing his subordinate because he was going out of his way to a help a traveller and he was like your going to efficiency the empire out of existence!!! too bad were not in the star trek timeline. in theory work would be unecessary with 100% automation but im not thinking were all going to be living a chill life with trips to risa.

So now you can quickly find out that your coffee is Fair Trade, which means that one coffee farmer now has a monopoly and the other coffee farmers get totally screwed. Not very fair at all. I lived in Guatemala for a while. Getting cut out means no more luxury items like meat. I never buy "Fair Trade".

guess america is going to have wiemer levels of inflation if they need to adjust the prices more than once in a day. is there going to be an electronic cart that locks your price in for the next 15 minutes like how it is online shopping lawl....

Wendy's 2.0. Airlines hotel dynamic pricing. Greed has its limits.

Kaufland and MegaImage have had that for at least 5-10 years, BUT the employees have to go around and update the prices with a smartphone type of thing.
At the vegetable/fruit section there are large e-ink screens, smaller ones on shelves... simple LCDs (like old school digital watches) at Megaimage.

I'm in Zimbabwe. One of the larger supermarket chains here went all in on digital tags years ago. I'll say, it beats coming up to a shelf with the paper tags removed as they get reprinted or as they wait on someone to apply them, forcing you to carry the thing you want to the till to see how much it costs that day. It's been better lately, to the point i was shocked to see the same prices weeks in a row. I certainly don't miss those mad days

1st heard (still do) of IOT in it's full form, "internet of thing's" in vids of China &not heard the acronymed version till now. They regularly use the term in either a subject directed or in a generalised way. I now refer2 modern day life as having an (term IOT 🥂

As a former walmart employee that is one of the biggest complaints we had from customers so it's a good thing imo since they actually don't have any specific positions to change prices
