As a former associate, this further validates my theory that Walmart and the Federal government are far more conjoined than most realize...

Imagine a 45 minute shopping trip. You view the price on everything you are buying, being very careful on your budget. Then when you get to check out, your entire load goes up by can do that and have a blast doing it. All at our expense. The only thing we can do is spend time at checkout, slow down, and check all prices. If they went up, take them off the ramp and tell them to keep it. Just pay for what "didn't" go up in the last 15 minutes.

No more employee/employee hours needed to change labels. Just think about the 10s of thousands of employees that can be laid off. Especially in CA and other states with higher minimum wages.

This means, you will need to pay close attention to the price and take picture of the price tag as the time you pickup the item. This change is getting ridiculous.

if the price is higher than expected, just leave it at checkout and let the employees take it back. If it happens too many times, they will have to hire more employees to do this job.

Soo… I am shopping, put a steak in my cart at $5.79/lb and it takes me an hour to get done and checkout is the price going to change? That is illegal in Vermont and the Vermont Attorney General prosecutes and fines stores for false pricing and this would count as that.

Been doing online grocery delivery for 4 yrs now. Game changer and completely worth it.
All stores are going this way eventually. Unless you grow your own food or have a mom-n-pop grocery nearby, it will be difficult to avoid. Especially in chain stores and big cities.

The dynamic pricing has been in place at my local grocery store since roughly last fall. I have seen where prices have changed between the time I took it off the shelf to when I checked out. Usually the employees don't fight it and honor the lower price. Previously, they had many more issues with the price not matching the traditional label so in some ways this is a good thing. But, it is also something to be leary of.
