I’ve been a catechumen for a year now, one piece of advice I have for people who are new: get a lectionary bible too! The Lectionary Bible by Saint Ignatius Orthodox Press includes a Psalter, all of the readings throughout the year (I love that, I can follow along when the Gospel is read) but also includes the readings for Matins and other services people may miss.

It’s made the process a lot more digestible for me and helps me stay on track. Can’t recommend it enough!!! ☦️

Agreed. That prayer book and psalter specifically. But the notes in the study Bible for the psalms are INDISPENSABLE for the psalter. Great stuff, brother.

I would also recommend the Anthologion prayer book published by Saint ignatius orthodox press... it has pretty much every daily service available in it designed for a lay person to use at home. From simple morning and evening prayers to full canonical hours of the day so it can grow with you and your prayer needs. I can't recommend it enough.
