If you use a glass, porcelain or ceramic dish, you can place a cheap small candle that's in glass and it works really well and much faster. The fleas are attracted to the light AND the heat which they think is a warm blooded host. Of course I wouldn't recommend leaving over night or carpeted areas without supervision but it worked amazing. I did this in areas a week after treating home with natural flea killer to monitor where there were still possible areas.

This is a great trap, thanks ...but the worst mistake i did is wearing socks. Now i have dark marks on my feet all around my ankles. I thought i'm protecting my feet by wearing socks. Fleas enter through clothes, and some fleas are professional, it feels nothing when they bite until you see the marks caused by it.

I was very very skeptical about the soap and water bit but omg it freaking worked.im having a bad bad time with fleas this spring and early summer.i have 6 adult cats and 7 babies and a dog.i did this and with in 5 minutes it was catching them.i wish I could have posted a time lapse video here to prove what I'm saying but it freaking works.i did this before I seen this video

Been doing this for years and it works. I just use a table lamp on the floor with a bowl of water next to it.

For future reference, while soap and water CAN do a decent job the downside in using it is water evaporates. So, whats better than soap and water? Mineral Oil. Mineral oil doesnt evaporate and its dense enough to trap fleas and any other type of bug that falls into it, and any winged bug likely wont be able to fly because of the thick coating. Hope this helps :)

I’ve been combing my kitty every day for two months with a flea comb, vacuuming, washing all the throw blankets, my bedding, etc. and I’m still getting one or two fleas off of my kitty every day. I've been using flea sprays I have been using flea baths which is costing me money and also does not even work but this trick is phenomenal I am finally reading my house of fleas and it's costing me a tiny bit of water and soap 👍

Not just fleas only I have seen dead spiders, bugs, ants etc.... really works! Dawn dish soap works too. I use plug in night lamp next to the plate really works too!!!

Thank you so much... we have two outdoor/indoor cats... the cats sleep on the sofa and on my bedding. I got bit by flea about 5 days ago, then every day another new flea bite or two on my ankles and wrists...Been washing bedding daily, got flea collar for cats, vacuumed. Having a mini meltdown... all these flea bites itchy washed with soapy water, used after bite, polysporin, bandades.. today found your video. thank you so much for your suggestions. Pulled out all my bedding for washing today and dryer heat. Vacuumed. Poured Morton salt on the flooring...will vacuum in 2 days. will get the soapy water dishes up and running today.
