Now that's how you catch the bacon. Brings a whole new meaning to bringing home the bacon. Bravo.

You came in like a boss and carried the pig straight to the BBQ. 😂😂

An improvement to your trap…the 2 sticks you drove in the ground, turn the notches in opposite directions. That way when the hog roots it can set off your trigger from either direction. Try it.

Your pet pig is like "WTF man?"

This sequence needed to end at a smoker...

My favorite part was when the pig defiantly yelled, "you may take my life, but you will NEVER TAKE MY FREEDOM!"
then you carted em off.

Thinking about this type of stuff I have say Bob Hansler on YouTube was the man in south central Texas when it came to foraging and a mix of modern and primitive skills. Health issues have sidelined him. I really appreciate seeing modern outdoor people dabble in primitive techniques

I'd like to see more about HOW this trap works. More info about the knot used as the release mechanism please.

Good job. 👍 Perfect size catch for a roast pig.

That's a snare-spring trap, one of the earliest and universally used techniques across all eras and cultures where hunting for subsistence has been practiced. Simple, but a brilliant example of human ingenuity. Set the trap, go about other errands, then come back later to check (and with some luck find your high yield protein package compliantly waiting!)

The last scene should have been a few slabs of bacon in a frying pan!

This sow with piglets didn't react quite like I'd expect a wild one would.
It was suspiciously docile!

Nice. The snare trap is an oldie but goodie. I used to carry Turkeys out of the woods the way you humped that swine out. Then one day I got lice on me. I dont do that anymore! You are a competent Hunter. Good Job.

Wish I knew how he wrapped the rope around the trigger. Could you do another video slowly showing the tying of the paracord around the trigger. Thanks
