I wonder, if you would be quick enough and insert the SSD, the system wouldn't crash.

My guess is there’s still enough data in the ram to run temporarily until the computer starts to need access to new files that it now has no access to, causing it to slow and eventually crash.

This was like removing the hippocampus of a living person.

I think what happens is: it doesn't die instantly because at the moment of removal, you're yousing the data that is stored in the rams, then when the ram tries to refresh it's contents that produces an error

I actually had this issue for a couple months now, had to replace the M.2 because the pins were messed up. my pc would randomly crash EXACTLY like this video, I never knew it was an issue with the connection until I saw this video and noticed the symptoms were exactly the same. This video saved me so much time and headaching from diagnosing

M.2's are so fast,
you can still use and read off of them for a few seconds before the computer notices they're gone.

I actually do this to swap OS drives. I'll quickly take out the windows drive while it's running, put a diff drive with MacOS installed back in and then Half-Life 3 launches.

Ill explain Why this happens: that’s because the ram keeps some windows files stored incase. So if u remove the hdd or ssd chances are, your pc will be working fine for 10 seconds then will crash

Fun fact: more ram more time to play without ssd or hdd or ipod

Try using your garage sale pc components in a gaming pc

SATA is hot-swappable, so loose connections aren't that big an issue. Try that and see what happens when Windows has the code to lose the C drive.

I think this happens cuz current data is stored on the ram so nothing happens but if you remove the ram the pc might freeze or show random colors cuz the current data is gone
Also when you pc or laptop sleeps then what happens is the data from ram gets stored on the storage device so next time when you log on the data will be transfered to the ram and you find everything back to where it was

He shouldn’t have said nothing really happens. If he didn’t jinx it it could have kept on running with no problem
