I loved Deb once she knew about the real him. She became a cold badass of sorts

_"Everything is in my control"_

Top 10 deliveries in the show for sure. It comes across as delusional yet reinforces how everyone underestimates Dexter at the same time.

He made the mistake again and got Deb killed, she was right.

“I’m not giving up my son”
Fast forward 14 years
“Oh no, I’m not your dad, I’m not Dexter”

This is one off the times in the show where they succeeded in making dexter act like a psychopath

I love how psychotic Dexter sounds when he claims that everything is in his control. I can't wait for Dexter: Resurrection - glad we're getting a prequel first.

Deb was right here and it pisses Dex off because he knows it

He made the decision once more and it led to Deb’s death 😭 because as Deb said it really wasn’t in his control

I feel like Deb's concerns were legitimate, but at the same time Dexter did try telling her that he might not be a good dad when Rita first got pregnant. While a big part of Deb's character is to be brash and unapologetic, I felt like for the most part she failed to realize that their father (Harry) screwed Dexter the fuck up. Pretty much sealing the deal on him not having a remotely normal life or mindset.

Him saying he has control, or things being over when he says they are is in direct contrast to who he is. He followed the code of a man who brainwashed him into thinking he could only be a serial killer. Coming to terms with that would be earth shattering, especially from Deb's end.

All that being said though, she handled it all pretty well given the circumstances.

I hope no one in their right mind is supporting Dexter here. She is right. He has a child and he brought Trinity into their life's.

This is my favorite scene. Deb and dex are so passionate and there’s an argument for both sides. Ironically, it was dexters belief in Debra that led to her death and Harrison’s abandonment.

Deb was right, and this ties in to New Blood pretty well. She keeps this energy in that, cementing that Dexter knew, deep down, she was right.

He held true to his word by letting Harrison shoot him. Not by letting Deb’s killer go…

I dont think anyone really understood the pain Dexter went through after Ritas death. Not even Dexter.

He then went to make that exact mistake again

I loved how the writers put the mirror in our face here. Just like what would happen on breaking bad. We love these protagonists, but they were not good men. The narcissistic nature is embedded in them. Its so sad that deb ended up being right here to her demise. And in a sense so was dexter 😢

The scene that tells the audience "no Dexter is actually crazy".

"I will never make that mistake again"

"Proceed to let Daniel live and deb gets killed "
Well well well…. Isn’t it ironic

This is the moment dexter thought he's the one who knocks.

There's irony of the writing from s1 and ending of s2 and its blatantly obvious difference. Dexter in s1 was in control despite brian's actions getting deb he still did what he had to do. Meanwhile in s2 he couldnt control his arsonist gf, he couldn't control doake's snooping around his shit, etc. He got away because his gf did something he couldnt dare to do.
