God, that moment is so subtle but so utterly brutal once you get to the end of the episode. "Ooohh, so he doesn't know yet..." Trinity knows in that moment, he's already won. That's why he stops caring about anything Dexter has to say once he hears Dexter talk about his family, blissfully unaware that his family is forever destroyed. He knows that anything Dexter is saying is meaningless because his entire world is gonna come crashing down the moment he gets home.

Trinity still won at the end that’s what’s crazy about this he’s the only villain I truly believe I got the best of Dexter Dexter thought he won by killing Trinity Trinity before he died, killed Rita the only person that was keeping Dexter normal. He took that away from him after this Dexter loses it completely.
