I got excellent news today. I had my 90-day update on my blood test for diabetes after my 1st diagnosis and I no longer have it. The results are even better than what I was measuring with my glucose meter.

I had a lot of stressors that may have triggered high glucose and insulin intolerance. I had kidney stones, 2 root canals, crooked spine and sciatica, so a lot of inflammation. To comfort the way I was feeling I became addicted to sugary drinks and I spiraled downward. Fortunately, it was such a short period I don't think I caused any permanent damage. My eyes tested fine and the neuropathy I had in my left hand is lessening. My stones have been removed and my root canals are done.

I'm basically eating the way I ate before I got Kidney stones in Nov 2022, but I've added more healthy fat and less carb content. I eat mostly Whole-Food Plant-Based SOS (minimal Salt, Oil, Sugar) and minimal grains. I also do intermittent eating with 2 meals a day.

I have not lost any weight, but I've reduced inflammation and last week got my kidney stones removed, so it's not lower due to that. Having a glucose meter tied to my Fit Bit made a big difference in managing my diet. I didn't take Metformin for the 1st 2 months, but started taking it due to spikes after taking antibiotics. I will be weaning off Metformin and hope to start losing weight as I am obese.
