Today, we’re featuring Wild Fork’s boneless beef stew meat—sourced with care and frozen at peak freshness for max flavor. Trust us, it’s worth it!
Here’s what you need:
1/4 cup olive oil
1.2 lbs stewing beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, chopped
2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp ground allspice
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 1/2 cups red wine 🍷
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (known as a cornstarch slurry)
1 bay leaf 🍃
1 cinnamon stick
2 white potatoes, chopped
1 sweet potato, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
8oz cremini mushrooms, halved
2 cups water
1/2 cup frozen peas
How it’s done:
Sizzle the beef in hot oil until browned.
Add onions, garlic, and bell pepper. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and allspice. Stir in the tomato paste.
Pour in the red wine and scrape up the flavor-packed bits stuck to the pot (that’s the good stuff).
Add beef broth, your cornstarch slurry, bay leaf, and cinnamon stick. Bring it to a boil, then simmer for 40 minutes.
Add potatoes, carrot, mushrooms, and water. Simmer for another 20-25 minutes until the veggies are tender.
Stir in frozen peas for the last 10 minutes and get ready to serve.
