In my teens I used to black out for seconds, sometimes falling to the ground. It carried on into my 20’s until I blacked out and broke my wrist. Dr’s researched further, test after test and finally a tilt table was conclusive that my body needs more salt. Any time dizziness like vertigo symptoms come about, I eat a lot of salt and 90% of the time feel better within a few minutes. I hope this helps others. Understand everyone is unique.

I had like chronic low energy and lethargy, keto made me feel good and focused but still sluggish. I started adding salt to my keto bulletproof coffee and felt so much better. Now I put a lot of salt on my food and actually feel energy. It makes sense to me now too. Salt is an electrolyte! Since the early 80's we've been told salt/sodium is super bad for you.

I just started back exercising and I had a day of impossible hunger. The next day I ended up drinking an electrolyte and was fine! I think this is what happened to me. Thanks for the info!

The "salt scare" has hurt a lot of people through the years. It's all about balance so instead of avoiding salt, just switch to a mineral salt that also contains other minerals, like potassium, magnesium and iodine.

When I am fasting I have to be careful on my sodium levels.... It took awhile to figure out electrolyte balance but your body will let you know and you will learn to recognize what you need

This is a mild deficiency you're talking about. More advanced symptoms are, cramps, seeing shooting stars, headache, chronic fatigue, dizziness, twitching, palpitations/arrhythmia. I experienced all these on a sixteen mile walk on the hottest day of the year in 2022. I was only 8 miles in, it was very hot, and I had already consumed 1.5 litres of water up to that point. I was suffering quite hard and was starting to get anxious about the situation. I text a friend and he immediately said it was low electrolytes. The next shop was almost 4 miles away, so I battled through to get there. I bought an avocado, a banana and consumed the melted dark chocolate bar in my bag that I had forgotten about. The bloke at the chip van let me put around a teaspoon of salt in my water. Around 25 minutes later I felt on top of the world! It was one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had.

Thank you for discussing this little recognized problem. It can be frightening serious. My aunt, who was only 71 at the time, was passing out and falling down. Her pcp, without really testing for anything, assumed she was having seizures and put her on antiseizure medication. (She was also having BP spikes at night and was on BP meds.) This began for her a long slow descent over the course of a year into what ultimately looked like dementia and Parkinson's. She could barely get of bed. She barely had a life. We thought she might have be put in a nursing home. Because she would pass out and fall she was hospitalized on several occasions but still not tested for sodium deficiency. They just played around with her seizure medication. Finally she was hospitalized in such an extreme condition that they ran a 3-day long EEG on her only to discover she wasn't having seizure activity in her brain. They tested for all kinds of things and found that her sodium was so low she was nearly comatose. After a week or so of being treated with a urea drink (really yuck) she made a full recovery. I remember in her younger years she would eat the saltiest things imaginable. I wonder if she didn't always have a chronic sodium deficiency. She has always been kind of emotionally fragile, nervous and jittery.

Symptoms are similar to hypoglycemic. Another reason to choose salt before giving into sugar in an effort to feel "better"

When you consume the proper amount of salt for you You literally feel electrified within your body. You will see things more clearly and it will be a noticeable difference. I had low sodium below the normal range and I didn't even know it and I soon as I started to consume a lot more salt like over 3, 000 mg per day I immediately started to feel better

Yes pink salt helped me cure my fatigue. Doctor said I didn't need need to add salt. However better salt means I don't need much. I put my salt in my Co2coconut water with match grreen tea powder yes recovery

This would probably also explain my occasional irritability . I was always wondering why I would occasionally get angry at the world . Whenever I feel this way, I will give some electrolytes a try. Thanks Thomas

If I dont get 6g of sodium per day I crash HARD. This means I need to get around 12g of salt into me. So I literally dry-scoop pink salt 3g at a time and swallow it with a drink of water. It might not be to everyone's tastes but its easy and convenient to do!

Recent blood tests show that my blood sodium levels are PERFECT.

This is such critical information. For years I have been a binge eater and I had read this could be salt related— finally someone brings the SCIENCE!, Thanks

During the Vietnam war, soldiers would regularly swallow salt tablets that were issued to them. Mind you, Vietnam was very hot all the time. Day and night.

I hate the mechanism of craving water when I'm actually low on sodium. Gets me so many times lol, then I kinda feel better for a sec when I drink and it becomes a self feeding cycle and soon I'm even more sodium deficient and then one day I realize that and immediately feel a lot better when I have fairly concentrated salt water

Thomas this is great information about sodium, but please do a study/talk on potassium. It is the “balancer” of sodium and people need to know about it too. You only mention potassium briefly here. Thank you!

I'm 31, super fit, on carnivore and my BP and blood glucose have been getting out of control on carnivore. I think after watching your videos I was low in sodium.
