You can have it armed before throwing, but you will need to disable the feature that makes the drone level when armed and zero throttle

Do it while it’s activated/ slow spinning props and then throw it and throttle up

Don't do this. It's not worth the injuries. Be careful as you want, practice as much as you want, and be as dangerous as you want. You are putting your safety and potentially others safety in the hands of the people who made your electronics. Electronics can fail. Drones can arm themselves when you think they are perfectly safe. I know from experience, an esc can go to full throttle without being armed. You don't have to chew up your hands to "look flashy", let your flying skills do that for you. If you can't take off, your not as prepared to fly as you thought you were, or you didn't plan at all. Don't be stupid playing with flying blenders. They be dangerous. By all means, do this with tiny whoops or things that can't cut you 3k times a second.
