Throw off to the right of the wind direction, (just a light breeze for plastic boomerangs) also, throw more vertical, never horizontal. If she flies high, she’s too horizontal. Lay boomerang back against your arm & give it plenty of spin when you throw, youtube have great videos, above all, have fun..👍

I know this lands over an old video but for any newbees out there, those 45º are meant to be the direction against the wind, not the release angle. Release angle MUST be almost vertical and to the horizont, and you gotta avoid twisting the wrist to an angle at the last moment because that will actually turn the vertical release angle into a flatter angle and ruin the throw. Also pay attention to boomerangs for right and left handed.

No fear! The boomerang flies close to the ground, vertical-ish, its range is always fixed, and has lift on its own. Put your guts on the throw and it will fly better than a shy try.

it's a fast catch boom. you gotta put in all your power to throw it. and also make sure to throw it straightforward, not too high or too low, also without bending it to the side like a frisbee

I've been throwing boomerangs since childhood (and not Australian). It's most def fun, and worth a try. It's basically playing catch for the lonely.
