Devastating floods from Hurricane Helene hit Asheville, western North Carolina

Hurricane Helene brought heavy rain and strong winds to North Carolina on Friday after making landfall Thursday night as a category 4 hurricane in Florida.
Catastrophic flooding is being reported across western North Carolina with parts of the state underwater. The French Broad River reached over 16 feet on Friday flooding most of Asheville's River Arts District.

What a mess. Water damage is bad. I'm just wondering. These communities have sprung up in places maybe 50 or so years ago had hardly any residents. So I can only say they are building in all these places that were just land. The community I live in, Florida, was just dairy farms and orange groves 50 years ago. Now it's office buildings and apts

I just learned how to survive a flood jump in a dumpster they float but stay out of the cars! 😂. Really is sad though. 😢. I live in Florida lost my favorite Key to Helene. (Cedar Key)
