Hurricane Helene's flooding, damage in Florida captured in videos

Helene caused flooding and knocked out power for Floridians after it made landfall over the Big Bend area Thursday night as a Category 4 hurricane. Videos captured flooding caused by the storm and the aftermath Friday morning after it moved north.

Surprised by what I've seen via drone footage that more trees haven't fallen! Looks like more damage was done to buildings/homes! Could have been even far worst like Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas a few years ago, Cat. 5! Recover well southeastern states~

I am 71 years old and in my lifetime suffered many Hurricanes unfortunately 😢! Survived Helene but it did bring back the Memories of Camille.
Know it's best to learn from the past ?! And do believe One usually does?! Especially for those that didn't ?
So the Feelings of Immense Sorrow will never be Inflicted Upon One's Future again😢💔

I feel safe living an hour from the beach in Florida because we have storm drains and canals, but in Florida you can be 90 minutes to both coasts and 150' above sea level.

Florida is a awesome and special place and I appreciate the direction Desantis has been going, but we are in trouble with our population growth, housing prices, Insurances costs and crazy HOAs. Gov needs to realize no building code or code enforcement is ever going to be good enough here. I've written our state and local governments to consider a new approach that will fix housing in the state and lead to an explosion in home ownership where they relax zoning, building codes and code enforcement. Let people take the risk they want and live how they want on land they own outright. Mandate evacuations and get out of the way. Focus on better infrastructure. Regulate real estate transactions, Insurances and banking putting the full burden on buyers to know what they buying. Inform and protect the consumer and GTFOOTW. THIS will restore the American dream and truly make Florida the land of the Free and the Brave.
