A strange fraction

I stumbled across this interesting fraction by accident, it is what is known as a digit-cancelling fraction or an anomalous calculation. It features in Project Euler Question number #33, and also they are mentioned by Presh Talwalkar on his channel “Mind Your Decisions”. I’m looking to produce a longer series of videos on this so if you’ve enjoyed it, or found it at least curious, please comment, like and subscribe to help support this channel.

I’m not a professional mathematician by trade or training, but I’m fascinated by the world of mathematical ideas and I love stumbling across happy discoveries like this. If this video gets some good response, I’d like to make more on some of the other similar fractions I’ve found, how they can be generated, what makes the problem difficult, and some results in their distribution and factorisation.
