I love that on DS 1 one-handed halberd staggers if you don't hit an enemy. The game actually had you recovering from a missed hit because of that weight

There are 1-handed Guandao techniques in the forms but, as you've shown here, I think they're more for when the momentum and range of the halberd "forces" you to use one hand after throwing a strike or technique, instead of using a polearm using one hand only.

one of the things I love about fromsoft is that they allow you to do things you shouldn't but they also make sure you understand that you really shouldn't be doing it
