The REAL Windows 10 Startup sound

Presenting you the real Windows 10 startup sound (applies to Windows 8 and Windows 8.1). The startup sound is same as Windows Vista and Windows 7 but it’s disabled by default in Windows 8/8.1/10 (enabled if you upgraded from Windows 7 or Vista).

You’ll have to check “Play Windows startup sound” in the Sound in Control Panel. This will enable the startup sound but you’ll only hear it if you restart your PC. For that ,you’ll need to disable Fast Startup on your PC. On older machines it’ll take time to boot, but it’s a small price to pay if you want to hear the startup sound every time when you boot your computer.

If you want to enable the startup sound if you boot into windows, just right click the speaker icon on right bottom taskbar --> Volume mixer --> Computer icon --> Enable Startup Sound --> Apply & OK --> then you can reboot and you have an startup sound.

I see a lot of comments saying that this is not the startup sound for Windows 10. In fact, it really is the startup sound. Microsoft has been using this Vista/7 startup sound on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Check the description or the pinned comment to enable the startup sound on Win 8/8.1/10.

It's interesting how so many of the Windows 10 sound effects are still just the same ones from Vista and 7. Granted many of those ones are disabled but they still come with Windows 10.

Can confirm, it will occur if you enable the startup sound and then somehow managed to not doing "Quick Startup" on rare occasion. Most prominent in restarting or startup after BSOD

I never realized windows 10 still had the same startup as windows 7 till one day I was playing around in settings and I saw the play startup sound box wasn’t checked so I checked it and turned it off and I heard windows 7
