A nice update 👍

note : the fake Windows Vista beta 2 startup sound is actually from Windows Vista beta 2/RC help tutorial outro, which the sound doesn’t include in RTM version of Windows Vista.

Looks like i wasn't the only ticked off person when i discovered Server 2003 lacked the cool startup

I heard from the comments about another fake Windows shutdown sound. They thought that the reversed version of NT 5.0 startup is the real shutdown sound, but it's not.

Oh how I wish the Longhorn one was real though

5:52 I've heard this startup sound on my windows 10 machine (a laptop) and thought it was just a clicking sound. This video proved me wrong

3:36 Apparently the fake startup sound had an unknown ident from Brazil with the Windows 98 cityscape startup sound but no one knows the shutdown sound

The custom Windows 2000 Beta 3 theme for Windows 9x systems feels like "Windows 2000 but it could've been a completely different Windows NT-based operating system" (1:57)

I don't trust Windows Expert I trust only ColaWin which uploads very true real startup and shutdown sounds

Also, NT 4.0 beta 1 logo, NT 4.0 RTM sounds. NT 4.0 used the 3.1 sounds up until Beta 2
Edit: Conversely, NT 4.0 beta 2 logo, 3.1 sounds. By Beta 2, NT 4.0 already had its final sounds.

Thanks for debunking this.

For years I’ve always wondered what the sources for these sounds were since they sounded pretty neat.(especially longhorn).
I didn’t know those were actually from a Samsung program for windows (theme manager).
Same for the voice recognition thing.

Also, the fake sounds for 3.0 being sped up 95 sounds is kinda funny.

Windows 3.0 MME was released in 1991. Also, Windows NT 5.0 was renamed to Windows 2000 in 1998.

0:22 some computers did have technology to make sound, such as Mac’s from that time.
However, windows didn’t implement any due to being trying to be accessible for all pcs at the time

I think Windows Expert made a video called "❌✅ CORRECTING WINDOWS STARTUP AND SHUTDOWNS❌✅", which he used the wrong Windows sounds

Windows Expert actually put the fake sounds into his videos *on purpose*. Then he made a video where he corrected them.

Now I know that the beta versions of "Windows Vista (Microsoft Longhorn)" used music/sound effects from "Windows XP." The fake "Microsoft Longhorn" music/sound effects actually came from Samsung.

The windows 3.0 MME startup scared the hell out of me

Also, I've seen some videos with Windows 98 beta 2 using the 2 escrow/3 sounds, or even the RTM sounds. That is false. 98 beta 2 used 95 sounds

3:30 There is already a higher quality version of that shutdown sound.

Ta for the debunking vid. The fake Server 2003 'localised' sound is interesting cuz fakers weren't even trying

Now this real truth. I commented on one of the windows longhorn startup videos and told them it’s fake.
