When I traded my daughter's 1995 Camry with the 3.0 1MZ-FE V6 engine it had over 365k miles and ran fine. No burning oil, No sludge, however I bought it with 250k miles from a friend who had it 10 years and had run Amsoil. 2 oil filters and 1 oil change per year. I ran synthetic oil and changed it once a year. A lot
of people buy Toyota and don't service regularly because they are so good - results sludge and burning oil.

When you talk about the Honda 1.5L Earth Dreams, you're showing footage of the 9th gen Accord. The 9th gen had the ultra-reliable K24. I'm thinking about replacing my 2014 Accord with a new CR-V, but I'm a bit worried about the 1.5T.

5:43 you are talking about the 1ZZFE but the picture clearly shows the viewer a 1NZFE engine as indicated by the intake runners

I own an accord with the f22a (essentially the same as the f22b, but pre vtec) and I haven't noted any of the issues listed here. Maybe it's due to the vtec installment in the f22b that these problems occur, but otherwise the f22a has been a really reliable engine to me. 138k miles and counting as my daily. Trans is garbage though, no argument there lol.

You forgot the 2012-2013 toyota GT86/frs (brz) catastrophic valve spring recall: with lots of mechanics destroying the engine while not doing it the right way.
And also the 2022 toyota GR86 RTV issue that destroyed lots of engine.

I had a 2001 Corolla S and before it wouldn’t pass smog it would eat a gallon of oil per tank of gas. Definitely had a very stuck oil ring, but the number 1 cylinder was known for it.
