Black Myth: Wukong Review

Black Myth: Wukong surprised me. Going in, I knew not to expect a souls-like, despite it seemingly sharing many of the genre's hallmarks. The game's Chinese developer, Game Science, has been adamant that it's not a souls-like, preferring to define it more generically as an action-RPG. This is at least partially accurate, as Black Myth: Wukong is definitely not a souls-like. What I wasn't expecting was for it to be essentially a lengthy boss rush. It's not uncommon to go from one boss fight into another and then another, and it's in these elaborate battles where Black Myth: Wukong shines. The moments in between, however, aren't quite as strong, sometimes devolving into aimless tedium. But its satisfying combat and unique variety of boss fights mostly manages to overcome these flaws.

Isn't it interesting that IGN saying they had technical issues while nobody else mentioning it?

It's easily a 10/10 game.
Best game I've seen in years.

Not Soulslike? Ironic, given the poor excuse of a journalist who made the 'Black Myth: Wukong Everything To Know' video a few days ago who did nothing but slander the development team and sarcastically comment on its Soulslike similarities...

Not a souls-like, but keeps mentioning souls-like as comparison.

I am asian and if I don't know about the northern europe culture in God of War, should I gave it a 8 as well? This is ridiculous that u gave a low point just cuz u don't know Chinese culture, that's ur problem not game science's

Enslaved Odyssey to the West is criminally underrated

What I don't understand is how a game where the variety of monsters in the first chapter alone exceeds the entire Dragon's Dogma 2 can be rated as having "scarce" monster variety. Did you really finish playing the game?

If you're considering *Black Myth: Wukong*, be cautious about relying on Screen Rant's review. Their assessment contains misleading and invalid information that fails to capture the true essence of the game. *Black Myth: Wukong* is a masterfully crafted experience with deep, engaging combat and a richly woven narrative that deserves far more credit than their review suggests. Don't let their inaccurate portrayal deter you from experiencing this groundbreaking action RPG for yourself.

If you crazily hate a game and dare not to score it under 8, it means a lot.

if you don't understand the game story, just wiki the lore as you did with Elden Ring lol
why all of sudden its an issue now?

People are talking about this review like he gave the game a 3/10... 8/10 is a strong score.

How did you manage to write a review worse than IGN? A game based on Journey to the West is harder to understand if you don’t know the source material? What a shocker, do you expect the game to read you the entire 2346 page story before the play-through? I highly doubt a Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter game would be criticized this much for not providing adequate knowledge of the original story.

Only concern is no PS5 codes have been given for review
