How not to write a shonen Arc. Today we'll talk about the worst Naruto Arc, the Tenchi Bridge Arc. There are many problems with the second arc of Naruto Shippuden. Naruto shows the power of the nine tails when the 4 tails version 2 Kyubi appears. Naruto vs Orochimaru is a good fight. That is the best part of the arc. Yamato and Sai are very lackluster characters.

Sakura Haruno does nothing as usual. Sasuke, Orochimaru, and Kabuto act a lot out of character. Will the 4 Tails vs Orochimaru fight save this arc? There are many more problems involving the Tenchi Bridge Arc. Let's get to it in the video and how not to write a shonen arc.

The best adaptation of this arc was actually in the storm 2 videogame, the confrontation between Naruto and Sasuke was way more climactic, change my mind

Isn't lack of character development a general problem in Naruto? Kishimoto generally had no idea what he was supposed to do with most characters. There were so many interesting and compelling characters but the vast majority of them got side-lined.

One thing bothers me is Naruto was on 3 years with Jiraya but he doesnt get so strongger. He made more kinds of rasengan, but the greatest changes about his training was on Kakusu and Pain arc. Was strange how he trained with Jiraya for 3 years and he dont learn more jutsus and etc

What's disappointing is the fact that in 3 years, all naruto learns is a bigger rasengan and sakura learns how to punch, meanwhile sasuke masters everything.
But in the war arc, naruto suddenly becomes this super fast learner who can pull of the most powerful jutsus without training them for a minute. I mean who even needs training, its all about unlocking powers by the war arc.

This is why pain arc is the most balanced. Every move naruto uses is something he specifically trained, perfromed before or is used to. And the godly powers have limitations to give the other side a chance

To be fair, while I agree that Orochimaru and Sasuke acted strange, Kabuto healing Sakura is completely in character. We have seen how he healed Hinata before the Konoha attack started. It adds to the strangeness of Kabuto that on the one side he is that devotee for Orochimaru, but when he does not see a reason to kill, he actually is quite willing to help these that he normally considers an enemy.

Something you didn't mention that I felt was stupid was the fact that Naruto came all that way just to stand there and basically let Sasuke kill him. Not even trying to persuade him to come back.

I always saw the kirin moment more as a threat/bluff to scare off team 7 of pursuing him, especially when he was much stronger than everyone else combined

I hated where sasuke intentionally wanted to kill his old team members even though he had a no killing rule after this. It's not like they were in his way of revenge. He could of leave and never thought of using kairin.

Kabuto actually healed Hinata in part 1, so healing Sakura is not that off character for him.

One of the disappointments I had with Shippuden came to light in this arc. It shows how Naruto's training timeskip actually failed. You'd think during those 2 years he'd come up with new techniques, and go toe to toe against the likes of the Akatsuki, Sasuke, or Orochinaru. But nope, he barely even improved, and he ended up being a punching bag for the big baddies in early Shippuden.

The funny thing is that the story didn't really need Yamato to contain the Kyuubi since one of the most impressive things about the sharingan is its the ability to control the nine tails, granted Kakashi isn't an Uchiha and can't control the sharingan very well yet and has low chakra reserves, but he won't be suppressing the entire Kyuubi yet so it should get a pass, also Kakashi's feats in the war are ludicrous, so insane that making him suppress the kyuubi in early shippuden would be not a big deal.

I will never understand the people who complain about the final fight being anti climactic. That’s the point of the fight, so Naruto realizes how far he still has to go to reach Sasuke. Everyone has a right to their opinion but I’ll always say that it’s a great ending to the arc.

Despite all the problems, I think the Arc would be looked upon much better if Sai had been more important to the series going forward. He's supposed to be Sasuke's replacement but he continues to be used less and less. The point of this Arc was Sai becoming a true member of team 7.
