1 ) sleep 7-8hrs per day
2) Walking more. Don't sit around so much
3) Smaller portion ( this s hard for me. In my 20s-30s I used to eat a lot. )
4) Cut down on refined flour and sugar
5) Drink water

this advice works earlier on, more like 30s, but in your 40s its about hormones, and she mentioned carbs but not enough. how about HIIT? or Strength training. She mentioned lower lean muscle but not what to do about it. @_@ some good tips but they need to give more, it's not so simple.

Get hormones tested after 40 and try to rebalance the ones that are out of whack.

most of everything she said is wrong long..

metabolism doesnt slow down with till about 60, it slows down because people take care of their health less when they age, they eat unhealthy foods, sugar like pop and junk food, drinking, smoking etc.

Drink lot of water through out the day, cut out the the sugar and greasy foods/junk food. That alone will speed up your metabolism.

Go to I cannot sleep and am just getting bigger.

Walk. That I do. I walk over 10000 steps every day.

Lower your eat once in aday.

Less sugars...I dont eat sweets but carbohdrates are hidden everywhere. I dont do sodas.
I am starting with weight lifting. Got to loose 15kgs
