Great advice.  Reminds me of this quote I love.  "Ego says, "Once everything falls into place, I'll find peace."  Spirits says, "Find your peace, and then everything will fall into place."

It always makes me feel better about my own struggles when I see how other people have it worse. I guess you have to decide how you react to things in life and make the most of the bad stuff and count your blessings. Life sure hits us with some challenges, but it always balances out with good things too. Thanks for our Sunday session Elle! Happy Autumn!  xox

I try to look deeper at every problem to see if it's an opportunity for growth. I call it re-framing. Not always easy, and sometimes it takes a long time before I'm able to re-frame something to become a positive, or just see what's in it for me to learn and grow. I find that if I don't re-frame a negative then I become stuck feeling as if life is happening TO me, rather than being the master of my life. Another great thought provoker, Elle. Hope things slow down for you a bit. Thank you.

I totally agree with this! Even the struggles that don't directly result in opportunity build you as a person to get ready for new ones! I'm learning this :)

Today's thoughts remind me of a Bible devotion I read instructing me to be grateful even in trials and suffering for these develop perseverance which leads to maturity. It's difficult for me to be grateful during hard times, but since I want growth and maturity, I'll appreciate their purpose in my life. And, I'll try to say thank you instead of grumbling and complaining! TY Elle! ❤️ Sharon

You are so on point! It's how we learn more about ourselves. Sometimes we just need to slow down, look back and the solution is right there.
Have a blessed week!
ps, loved the birds chirping in the background, very soothing :)

This is a wonderful way to look at it, and brings a more positive outlook on things. I find that positive outlook improves my relationships too, and suddenly life looks better, even though it's not perfect. I wish I had learned this earlier, but better late than never!

Another great reminder! I think sometimes we can face tasks or problems that are too big or too stressful and then we must take adequate actions and maybe get ourselves out and away from that situation (to use your example maybe find a new job). But so many times in our lives perspective and attitude towards our daily challenges is key. And to have the right perspective and to have a good attitude (to look at things and see the opportunity) can help so much. Thank you for sharing this truth!

Hi Elle! I love that positive outlook. It sometimes takes a lot of strength to find the positive in situations and to look for the opportunity. This is especially true when one becomes so battle worn. However, it certainly can improve one's quality of life to see the good, find the opportunities, and count one's blessings. Happy Monday to you, my friend! Love you - Dorothy xoxo

Oh that is a good way of looking at it, sometimes it seems like we are constantly putting out fires, which can be tiring, maybe I should just enjoy the warmth instead! I hope you are having a great Sunday! Love you! XOXO

These Sunday Chats of yours are such gems. I like how this video made me realize that as a "type A/overachiever" personality, I still struggle with issues/problems that come up where I don't come up with the perfect solution. I have matured to the level where I can deal with crazy problems that come up to my "perfectly planned" projects/days, but I take a great deal of pride in still finding optimal solutions to those unexpected snafus. Yet, as I get older, I realize not everything can be fixed, but this realization only comes after a lot of fight/resistance from me. You know, the "window" on having a perfect life gets smaller and smaller, lol, as I get older. I'm just slowly starting to reconcile myself to the fact that it's not going to be a perfect life and be happy with what can be made of it. Good wine and chocolate always helps

Total agree with you Elle! It is fantastic that you recognize that your jobs challenges you and brings the best in you. When a situation is particularly stressful, I try to follow an advice that somebody gave me a long time ago, when I was starting my career . "Look at the problem from the outside, follow the steps that you would advice somebody to follow if in the same situation, disengage emotionally as much as you can." I like that outlook as I know many people that tie themselves in a know because of taking job situations too personally. Excellent food for thought as always. Thanks Elle!

You are spot on! When we look back, the times when were stretched that enabled us grow are the ones that we ourselves feel most fulfilling, doesn"t matter how others judged us as competent to handle them or not.if you think about it, it is our worry about how we are perceived as dealing with the issue which causes the stress in the first place. If we step back and put our mind to it, often enough we can solve the problem, without the stress factor.

Love this. I always say to my children, and remind myself...I am who I am because of what happened to me in my past. Learn from your experiences, use the opportunity to grow and share what you have learned.

Very true. I think of our struggles or trials as God tests to us to see what we will do or how we will handle it. I need to keep that thought about being positive while going through struggles in mind a lot more (especially lately). I feel for me that I start out trying to have the positive outlook when things get a bit rough as I know whatever is happening is in His plan but when it becomes a long stretch of events you get a bit tired and it's hard to stay in that "positive" frame of mind sometimes. I have to keep remembering, He will never give me more than I can handle. Great thought! xoxoxo

Great piece of advice! It think it is a healthier way to look at bumps in the road or struggles. We are all on this earth to learn!

Great video Elle! Our builder always calls us with opportunities. He never mentions problems. I thought it was interesting that he had always dealt with building problems as opportunities so he can be more positive when situations in the building process occur. I hope that your situation at work gets easier. :) Wishing you all things good.Lauren
