Two things, I don't think anyone's life is perfect(the sooner you realize that in life the better) and I also don't think anyone really expects to end up where they are but I also think it is hard to be happy all the time, sometimes we just have to have a good cry under the covers, then dry our eyes and slap on a smile and fake it til you make it, the sunshine always comes and you my dear are a ray of sunshine to me and many others! This is beautiful, Elle. I would tell those that think you have a perfect life to be very careful to think that about someone. You have no idea what people deal with and just because they are choosing to project positive and see the lessons and smile does not in any way mean they have a perfect life. I just had lunch w/ my girlfriends yesterday and we were talking about life and relationships--they are not mean to be perfect. Along with all the good, there are supposed to be times of frustration, of doubt, of confusion, anger and just "messiness"....that is how we grow and evolve and become more empathetic to those around us. Here is my suggestion to those that are feeling down on their lives: go volunteer at a soup kitchen, a homeless shelter, the hospital. Everyone...and I mean everyone is fighting a battle. Be thankful for what you have no know you do have the control over how you choose to react to it. Happy Sunday, dear xo

I read a book once where it said you choose how to feel nobody can make you feel a certain way something along those lines. You have a choice to be happy and look at situations in a different way. I've started meditation and It has really helped me take note of my thoughts. Happiness is a choice I agree it's not always easy but with the best intentions it can be achieved. So true, Elle. When I have a bad day, I will stop and think of at least 10 things I'm grateful for and at least one thing that did go right for me that day. It really helps turn my bad day around!

I Love all your Sunday Chat Videos, it always strikes a chord within myself. I agree we control our happiness and ultimate destiny. With that said, sometimes it's easy to get caught up in all the negativity and bad stuff happening around us. I am often reminded that it's how we choose to handle those bad or tough situations. If we choose to take the negative side of things, it can take us down a very unhappy path, but if we choose not to let that situation control us, the out come can be much better. I was in a very tough spot in September, something that was out of my control and I almost let it get the best of me.I was going down that path of unhappiness. I had to stop thinking so negative and worrying about the outcome that I had no control over. Once I started to think of this situation as an opportunity and that with time things would get better, everything changed. I was no longer worried &, afraid of the unknown. I started feeling excited about my future. I am in a great place now and things continue to get better & better. Good, positive self talk does wonders I have found. So thank you for all that you share, you are truly a beautiful soul, both inside and out. Have a wonderful Christmas & a very very Happy New Year to you and your family.

Great video as usual. I know my children may get sick of my advice, but when they get frustrated with things in life I remind them "Be thankful for what you have AND for what you DON'T have because things could be so much worse. Learn from it". They can repeat it with me, but not on their own yet!!! But my one daughter did pass it on to a friend...so I think it is working! We just need to remember everyone has a story...everyone has something that they are dealing with that could bring them down. We just need to try to choose a different path as much as we can. You are inspiring, thank you.
