Such a great message and what an amazing route your friend took, it would have been so easy just to make excuses for him to save their feeling but then they may think that she influenced it...very strong and practical approach which I'm sure hurt her to see but was best for them in the long run. Loved today's chat Elle, I think we can all be guilty sometimes of wanting people to feel and react the way we do but letting go and letting people be free and to make their own choices is vital to their journey and character development. I did exactly this with my Children (now 15 & 20) I knew I would be the one that would be the 'bad guy' if I was to say anything about their Dad, it was truly heartbreaking and tbh it still is to see them disappointed or upset, but im there for them to lean on when they get upset, I trust they will be ok, and they know I am always here for them no matter what! that goes for school, work etc...I have never pushed them in any area, I guide them, and have faith they will be ok! my Son has an amazing job my Daughter is doing so well in school! I am so so lucky to be blessed with wonderful kids! it is their lives, we as parents can only guide them, n hope n pray they will be ok! when I see some parents behave so controlling and manipulative, I see in turn those kids back lash just in spite! I love Kahil Gibran's poem, whereby he states Children our not ours, they come through us, we merely guide them etc etc! helped me lots :) lovely video again Elle! thank u xx

Your friend is so smart. I have seen in my experience with family and friends that when people are divorced and they talk negative about the father it makes the children feel bad about themselves. After all, half of their DNA comes from their father. No good comes out of talking negative about the other parent. This was another fantastic topic Elle. I love how you do your hair. Elle you are so right..When my children were small I divorced my (cheating) husband...I never ever told them why until they were in their 20's..He never came around to see them..When they ask me what happened I just said we fell out of love because we were too young to get married..Later in life one of them looked him up..and could see why it didn't work out..the other's say my dad is the one that raised me(stepfather)_...any man can father a child but it takes a real man to raise one...I was so happy I never said anything bad about him..until this day I just say we were too young to get married...

Totally agree, I have a good friend who did the this, she thought she was protecting them from being hurt. Parenting is hard enough-without make it harder. Those cicadas are noisy critters!

I don't have enough energy to keep after myself, but yet I'll get upset with someone else not doing something to better themselves. And by something, I mean just a step as in intentionally drinking one less cup of coffee per day. Not being able to control or motivate myself regularly makes me so depressed & agitated. And then, I think on what's going on around me & it feels all too much. I know it's my ability to cope & I'm not doing the best, I work on doing my best.

I really needed to hear this as I see my daughter involved in what I see as another disastrous relationship. She has gone thru 2 divorces and she is only 34 years old. She had legitimate reasons for these divorces but they both could have been prevented if she had taken her time and used her head before jumping into these marriages. It is almost as though she does not think she deserves better. That is what is so hurtful for me and her dad to watch. She deserves so much better and we have to just sit back and watch her make mistake after mistake. She does have 3 boys from her first marriage and they also have to suffer when she makes bad choices.
