The beautiful thing about athletics is that every aspect of the sport at the highest level is difficult and events can't really be compared to each other

800 is one of the hardest running events what they talking about.

If its just performing the event successfully, then I's say its the 60m/100m dashes. If its mastering an event I'd say its a tie between the pole vault & high jump, followed by triple jump.

To just do the event and not compete its the 60. But if you want to really compete the easiest would probably be something like the javelin because its more about form than any other event. (If you said high jump or long jump because its “all form” then id like to see you get a 50+ inch vertical along with a mid 10’s 100)
