Why does bro run with his arms like a T-Rex

If I don’t see Ludwig swinging around the uneven bars like Simone Biles we’re gonna have problems

I’m a D1 Decathlete, I’ve done damn near all of these events. This is incredibly entertaining to see a guy whose podcast I’ve listened to for years do all of the events that I’ve trained for years. Certainly room to improve across the board, but his hip mobility was actually solid for a big guy on those 110s

I’m sure everyone watching this would agree that Ludwig would do way better in a lot of these if he could actually run properly. It’s actually kind of scary how weird he runs.

An important thing to keep note of is that track times and distances become exponentially more difficult as you get better marks. The 100 meters is notorious for how “close” times can appear but even a difference of 0.5 seconds is a completely different league in terms of performance

“I tried every Olympic sport”
30 seconds into the video:
“I chose 10 Olympic sports”

Remember, Javelin has repeatedly been made harder and less efficient because of how good people do at it

As a seasoned vaulter, the secret is finding that little voice in the back of your head and then dragging it out behind the barn and doing an ol' yeller to it.

15:03 “we’re all good at running” this is definitive proof that Ludwig and I have never met before.

Fun fact: In 1984, Uwe Hohn set a world record javelin throw of 104.80 meters, becoming the first athlete to throw over 100 meters. His throw was only a few meters away from exiting the designated throwing area. Due to safety concerns and some other factors, the design of the javelin was changed in 1986, resulting in shorter throwing distances.

Chasing Ludwig with the drone for this video was a blast. Getting to witness the T-Rex arms first-person was more than I could've ever asked for in this career. Cheers 🍻

Bro runs like he’s practicing for a role in tom & jerry. Not the olympics 💀

I think a more interesting comparison would have been how close was he to qualifying for the Olympics. WR is an insane benchmark the majority of Olympic athletes will not set a record or even win a medal, but they all qualify.

An important distinction with Archery is that it’s shot at 70 meters. The camera angles used in the Olympics do a bad job of showing the sheer distance of the target, which leads to a lot of people underestimating the sport, when in actuality it’s not feasible to even hit the target at that distance without training, equipment aside.

Obviously for the sake of the video, putting it at a closer distance (presumably 18m) to actually have watchable content makes sense, but consistency is a large focus of the sport. Simply hitting “lucky” shots for one round isn’t enough.

A better representation may be to shoot an Olympic ranking round, which consists of 72 arrows split into 12 ends of 6 shots (again at 18m instead of 70m so the score isn’t just 0). Men’s world record in the ranking rounds is 700 points out of a maximum 720.

Actually did really well at the archery just being handed a barebow and shooting at that range, well done Lud
