if your eating 1 cup of rice and a handful of salad plus lite dressing -thats only 300 calories and its very filling and delicious.
the reason why americans fail with rice is because they add thick and rich gravy and sauces to the rice.
the rice is not whats bad, its what you add to it that makes the dish healthy or unhealthy.
1 cup of rice and 4 oz of steak and a side of vegetables. to me thats healthy eating.
especially if you use chicken or lean meat.

My friend moved to USA and she said most of food in US are unhealthy (canned, instant, processed) and super large portion. Veggies is very expensive but she buy it and eat it everyday with rice. She remains lean and healthy.

Most American don't know that rice is really the key to keep in fit and
rice is healthy, easy to digest, becomes energy easily, nourishes your brain, easy to cook, etc.
I eat lots of rice with a healthy side dish every day and never increase my weight excessively😊🍙💕

We eat rice almost every day and its not make us fat, we eat it without oil or butter we just boil it with some salt and it feels supper good and clean, we need carbs in our life its healthier than spaghetti/ lasagna or noodles or bread

I stoped eat fries, bread, sugar, but rice I will never stop eat.

If no negative effects on weight are observed only in Asian countries, maybe it has to do something with how they serve rice, e.g., fats that they add to it. Or maybe they are somehow better adapted to eating rice. Hmm it would be interesting to see studies in which the effects of rice consumption would be compared between Asian and non-Asian people.

It's pretty simple actually. Just like with everything else, in moderation you won't gain fat. But excess rice means excess carbs thus conversation and storage as fat.
