The 5500 suddenly looks like a really good deal at $100. Shades of the 1600AF all over again. With a bit extra i'd still go 5600, but if the budget is tight, the 5500 is a friend indeed.

Been seeing some pretty insane deals for the 5500, did a really insane budget build with that cpu and a Radeon 6600 for under $500 USD. Best bang for buck in PC gaming right now. This duo gets really close to the performance levels of the PS5/XBX for the same price.

Ryzen 5000 is crazy good. In the EU currently one could get a 5600, good b550 board and decent 3600/CL16 ram for roughly the same money as a 7600X or a 13600K (just the CPU). It's ridiculous. In 1440p or higher there isn't a noticeable/meaningful difference in FPS even with high end graphics cards. For the budget minded the 5600 is amazing.

Surprised about the 5500. Thought the 16Mb L3 Cache would limit more. You can get the 5500 for under 99€, even seen it new for 55€.

Good benchmark because it shows cpu performance with 2 gpu's, a good decent gpu rtx3060 and a higher end gpu rtx 3080

I only wound up with 5600X because of the dragging feet on mobo bios upgrades and it was already out 18 months or so.
I went with the watt sipping RX6800 and yeah 1440p already beat pretty sufficiently. 😁

Now in my country it is 70USD for 5500 and 95USD for 5600, I'm planning to buy a 5500.

Guys i bought a 5500 but then found out 5600 has twice the cache for 40 euros more (in my country) 140. Yesterday i saw a sale of 5600X for 150 and i didnt miss the chance. My advise is go at least for a 5600 instead of 5500. But 5500 is definitely not a bad cpu too.

we tend to forget that 60fps is still the sweet spot and we compare cpu's that run games at 190fps vs 217fps... I have a Ryzen 5 5500 and am thinking for swapping for a 5600 but the videos I see on Youtube all show the same.. The 5500 is not far off from the 5600 and in my country paying 60% more for a 5600 is unjustified... gonna keep the 5500 running for still a while...

Basically for the Ryzen 5600x, you are paying 20 dollars for 2 more FPS.

In CS GO, the indicators are clearly underestimated. I have an R5 5600X I get 500-700 FPS, with drawdowns up to 400, and even more rare drawdowns up to 350. How you got AVG 311 I don't understand, based on your AVG, your FPS had to fall below 311 in order to show the value of 311, and this is at Full HD.
I only got this if I ran CS GO in 4K, but even in 4K, I got ~150-300 FPS.

My video card is RTX 3070
RAM - DDR4 16Gb 3200MHz
The game is installed on SSD M2

Im still rocking a 1700x. Might sell that one for 60 bucks and get the 5500. In a year or two I can just get the 5700X second hand for cheap, so that'll do its job until then.

guys help me decide, i have ryzen 3 3200g msi a320m- a pro mobo, rtx 3050 with 12gb ram, 16gb ram 3600mhz. which cpu should i buy? 5500 or 5600 or 5600x? or what cpu do you guys recommend?

Major difference is on csgo and other competitive shooters.

I think cs2 has the same problem i just have upregaded my 4 years old rx580 for a rx7600
My CPU is a r5 2600 and the ingame fps are all about the same.

Maybe i need to reformat to see if its not a issue with old drivers files being left over somewhere ( have used DDU also)

AMD rocks in the 5th gen, all of the cpu are good even their apu which is the 5600g. pair everything up with dual channel and and decent gpu and everything will be glorious
