What do you think of silent E-mountain bike motors? Do you like the melodic mechanical whir or would you prefer to feel like you're gliding through nature with just the tyres and the freehub as a soundtrack?

So as Steve says full power ebikes are a different sport, these low power ebikes allow a 60 year old like me to ride as much as i did when I was 30. For me its all about fun exercise. I still want to exercise and pedal hard but I need rewards to encourage me to keep doing it.

So basically if you’re riding an analog hardtail like me and like how a normal bike feels on descents, want to try a full sus but your 47 year old knees hurt peddling to the top of Fod this might be the best of both worlds in mtb terms.

Now we wait for the TQ80. I'm pretty sure they have this in development.
This technology is amazing

A very interesting bit of kit. It is a shame that the claims of silent running are undermined by the video always playing music whenever the opportunity to listen to the bike is presented.

Now finally there’s a virtually near quiet ebike motor. Just gotta wait for it to add half or double it’s NM of power😎

I wish they put this TQ motor on a Trek Slash. I would buy it right away!

3:40 - You can't spend the last few segments talking about how quiet the motor is, and then BLAST music when showing off the bike in a segment without any speech. "LISTEN TO HOW QUIET THIS MOTOR IS! IT'S SO QUIET WE HAVE TO REALLY PUMP THE VOLUME ON THE MUSIC!"

7:32 - No, we can't hear your camera man running next to you, BECAUSE YOU HAVE BACKGROUND MUSIC RUNNING WHICH IS LOUDER THAN THE BACKGROUND NOISE!

What's the point of talking about how quiet something is, when you refuse to actually demonstrate how quiet it is?

I have ridden the new Trek EX-e and did find the motor to be virtually silent; however, the freehub noise while coasting was a tad louder than expected.

"This video is a paid-for presentation and brought to you by, TQ..."

I'd like to know if the motor is rebuildable or disposable like the new shimanos.

The new TQ is certainly an interesting motor and I wish them success, however Trek and TQ must be paying you a lot for the amount of content currently pushing this stuff.

Hoping to see the motor available on all mountain / enduro eMTBs.

Nice advert but I’d probably go for the Pivot Shuttle SL in this category.

Looks pretty revolutionary. Hope it would live up to it’s promises

Be interesting if they bring this same harmonic pin ring technology to a more powerful version in the 80-100Nm range for the heavier rider or bigger climbs...
