I was just having a shower thought about this: if god existed and is omnipotent, absolutely everything he does would be arbitrary. Why wait until a certain date to do anything if you already know the answer? Why create humans and have them play out their existence if you can travel back and forth through time? Why create free will if you know the answer to every question? It doesn’t make any logical sense.

Every definition of God I have ever personally encountered fit into at least one of three categories:

1) internally self contradictory

2) vague and ill-defined

3) entirely useless from a practical perspective

It always seems to boil to down to either a validation of preconceptions, or mental masturbation.
