Dr. Michio Kaku refutes Stephen Hawking's idea that there was 'no time' before the big bang for God to create the universe and reconciles theological differences between Buddhism and Presbyterian Christianity.

Google Zeitgeist is a collection of talks by people who are changing the world. Hear entrepreneurs, CEOs, storytellers, scientists, and dreamers share their visions of how we can shape tomorrow.

Dr. Michio Kaku is one of the most widely recognized figures in science in the world today. He is an internationally recognized authority in two key areas. The first is Einstein’s unified field theory, which Dr. Kaku is attempting to complete. The other is to predict trends affecting business, medicine, finance, and our way of life, based on the latest research in science. He has written four New York Times Bestsellers: The Future of Humanity, The Future of The Mind, Physics of The Future, and Physics of The Impossible. All achieved top spots on the New York Times, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble bestsellers Lists, and #1 hardcover, non-fiction book in the country for The Future of The Mind. Kaku has over 3 million fans on Facebook and well over half a million people follow his tweets on Twitter.
Dr. Kaku holds the Henry Semat Chair in Theoretical Physics at the City Univ. of New York. He graduated from Harvard University in 1968 (summa cum laude and 1st in his physics class). He received his Ph.D. in physics from the UC Berkeley in 1972, and has been a professor at CUNY for almost 30 years; he has taught at Harvard and Princeton as well. His goal is to complete Einstein’s dream of a “theory of everything,” to derive an equation, perhaps no more than one inch long, which will summarize all the physical laws of the universe. He is the co-founder of string field theory, a major branch of string theory, which is the leading candidate today for the theory of everything. His Ph.D. level textbooks are required reading at many of the world’s leading physics laboratories.

Well first off, God isn't affected by time, he's a totally different dimension, and if he is affected by time he isn't god.

Often times, I ask my dad about God, the universe and the existence of everything. He would try to answer with biblical facts, but there are questions that God is the only one who knows the answer. When we come to the very last question that seems to be really ununderstandable for the human mind, he would just say "You cannot understand everything, because the moment you do, you're God."

Conclusion:
1. We are not special
2. Time is invented by clock companies so that we buy more clocks

God: They’ll never figure it out. I’ll just add more mysteries.

OR God actually exists outside of time and space since he created it. That's where your argument falls off the rails. God is not human, he is other. That's what holy means, set apart, other, not the same. God cannot be defined by any natural laws we're aware of, since he himself created those laws. God created the laws and orders of the universe.. therefor he lives outside of them. Using the idea that there was no time for God to create the universe leaves out the idea that God created time in the first place. God must exist outside of time and space in order to have created it, otherwise he would not be God. He would only be a product of creation, instead of the other way around.

I certainly believe in a creater. The universe, planets, life itself, inteligience doesn't just magically appear out of nothing. We have to be humble and admit their has to be master creater. I encourage science to keep exploring the universe because curosity was also a gift given to us.

if GOD is dependent on time He would not be a GOD, since GOD is absolute.

In a mother's womb were two babies. One asked the other: "Do you believe in life after delivery?"The other replied, "why, ofcourse. There has to be somthing after delivery.Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later."

"Nonsense", said the first. "There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?"

The second said, "I don't know, but there will be more light than here.Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat with our mouths.Maybe we will have other senses that we can't understand now."

The first replied, "that is absurd.Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths?Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short.Life after delivery is to be logically exculded."

The second insisted, "Well I think there is something and maybe it's different than it is here.Maybe we won't need this physical cord anymore."

The first replied "Nonsense".And moreover, if there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there?Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery, there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us no where."

"Well I don't know, said the second, but certain we will meet mother and she will take care of us."

"The first replied "Mother"?You actually believe in Mother? That's laughable. If mother exists then where is she now?"

The second replied, "she is all around us.We are surrounded by her.Without Her, this world would not and could not exist."

Said the first, "well I don't see her, so it is only logical that she doesn't exist."

To which the second replied, "Sometimes, when you are in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive Her presence and you can listen Her loving voice, calling down from above."

Maybe this was one of the best explanations of the concept of GOD

I do find Stephen Hawking was a bit overconfident in what he “knew” or thought he knew. It’s a fatal flaw in modern materialist science. I know scientists have uncovered a lot in the past few centuries, but to claim you know about these mysteries is pompous. Realizing a god doesn’t have to exist for the universe to happen is not the same as saying a god does or doesn’t exist. Saying when you die you slip into nothingness is an assumption. Based on what we know we can make that assumption. But there is a possibility it’s wrong

Stephen Hawking said because there's gravity there's no need for God. God might have said, because I created gravity there's no need for Steven Hawking.
