A student struggling with his beliefs questions why in the Bible, God appears to have an emotional reaction such as anger for the bad things he already knew people were going to do since He's all-knowing?

I love it when unbelievers although they don't believe in Jesus ask legitimate questions with an open mind.

One of my favorite stories is how Abraham negotiated with God to spare Sodom and Ghemora. God knew already that there wasn't any righteous person to be found but He indulged Abraham because his heart was in the right place. It showed God's love and patience and also the pleasure God had with Abraham.

"I'm not well versed (or chaptered) in the Bible." Come on, this guy was born to be a dad.

i never thought of the story as Moses changing God’s mind, but as God having wanted Moses to live all along

God is teaching us that if we cry for mercy on others, we speak His language and He reacts. God didn't learn anything new here; Moses did.
And so do we.

“God is always angry at sin.” Excellent point.

He wanted to see where Moses’s heart was, just like in the beginning when he asked where Adam was. He was asking where Adam was hiding, He wanted Adam to confess where his heart was and see if he would take accountability.

Not a Christian but I am glad to hear that an actual reasoned and thought out answer was given to a question

Its makes sense when you look at it as
a parent/child relationship

In my view, I always thought of it as God testing Moses, as he knows Moses willingly would take the blame. Moses proves his faith and trust in God when he asks the Lord to punish him before he punishes the Israelites, time and time again, reassuring God not to give up on them, although, in my eyes, it is God seeing if Moses hasn't given up on them.

I had no idea this video was taken and uploaded here until today. I can't say that I'm more Christian now than I was then, but I'm certainly more spiritual. I appreciate the positivity from everyone, be well!

My dad didn’t leave to go get milk all those years ago, he just jumped and the earth rotated really fast from under him before he landed.

That's why we need the Holy Spirit to understand His word from His perspective.
