I must have the worst taste in cars. I love six of them, almost bought one and did buy one. I just read that buying a Gremlin back then was the same as paying $11, 000 for a car now. As a poor married Airman in the Air Force, it seemed like a Godsend.

In the late 80s maybe even early 90s a yugo was blown off Michigan’s Mackinac Bridge during high winds and she was speeding and fell to her death when she hit the ice below.

Talk about a click-bait headline! She never did say what #1 was! She said: "in no particular order".

Lol@ "wretched interior". 😂 I drank the Kool aid with Saturn for a good while. The marketing was effective.

I had a Gremlin X with a 304 small V8 and it was pretty darn quick

Did anyone notice how many cars were from Garbage Motors? sort of a reliable predictor of the upcoming bankruptcy of GM.
🙄 and i thought the Yugo was made in Buffalo....☠️🐓😂

Do you have a video about the gm Lector claft action lawsuit? And there is another lawsuit about the transmission that just came out

One of your most fun and entertaining videos, Lauren and you have a flair for doing them. Fun (or maybe appalling) fact is that I owned both a Gremlin AND a Pacer and considered buying an Aztek. I must disagree about the Gremlin being one of the worst cars made, though it had its shortcomings. It was durable and cheap to buy, though its 6 cyl. engine wasn't the best for gas mileage. My Jolly Green 1972 was my first car and I enjoyed it a lot until I gave it to my sister and 'traded up' to a 1975 red Pacer. Although my Pacer rode better and was a lot roomier than my Gremlin, as a 1st year model, it had some issues that make me agree with you a bit more. It was heavy for the engine it had (258 CID 6 cylinder with only about 110 HP for that time) so both pickup and MPGs were not good. 0-60 was likely about 12 seconds or a bit more and average MPG was only 17! I got 21 MPG on a long highway trip once. And the fuel line and power steering had to be replaced under warranty. And though the huge glass area offered spectacular visibility, the A/C couldn't keep up with all that solar heat coming in. I didn't even have A/C in the Gremlin though. And the Pacer rusted badly after a few years, causing me to futilely TRY to repair the rust holes with noxious compounds and paints. The Gremlin held up a LOT better for rust too so it was overall a better car though it had hard black vinyl seats, NO A/C, AM radio only and NO back seat leg room. And I wanted to like the Aztek; I did like its looks (would you expect any less from an owner of both a Gremlin and Pacer?) but it was pricier than I wanted it to be and also poor on fuel economy though huge inside and suited for camping trips. I considered it twice but rejected it both times on those grounds. I also looked at the Toyota Corolla based Vibe as sort of a mini-Aztek that would've made a much better choice. I'm surprised though you didn't mention the Chevy Vega, one of the WORST rust-buckets of all time! But keep these coming, Ms. Fix, because you are a genuine treat and treasure for fans of all things automotive! Stay well! 👍

The DeLorean: guess we weren't ready for that yet... but our kids are gonna love it.

The Pacer: The Good Burger-mobile! 🍔

The Ion: Come on, the Daewoos and 1st Kia Rio were worse.

The Yugo: In the Good Luck Charlie movie, the teen daughter: "What's a Yugo?" (after being stranded with her mother and needing a car) Her mother: "It's a car... about 10 years older than you. Built in a country... that no longer exists." Seller: "It's $75." Both: "We'll take it!"
Also I know an account of a Yugo getting crushed under a truck trailer while on I-80 in rural Nevada. Yugo... I'll push.

The Pinto: my stepbrother drove one in the early 1990s... after learning about them being a fire hazard, I am so grateful I was denied a ride in that car when I was 5 years old.

The PT Cruiser: a lady at my former church drove two of them for years (not at the same time) until they broke down; the 2nd one a convertible. Right before she did, I had already learned how bad it is, and called it the 'PT Loser' to her face... she gave me a hilarious glazed look at me. She replaced that with a Ford Escape, giving me another car to make fun of by singing 'oh what fun is to drive this rusty Ford Escape' like Da Yoopers' "Rusty Chevrolet". 😂

What about the GM Diesel vehicles in the 1980s? The editor of Car & Driver nicknamed the old Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Diesel “Old Smokey.” It was an energy crisis vehicle.

Being a wagon / hatchback sort of guy I thought the Pinto wagon was pretty cool, especially the version you pictured. I also liked the PT Cruiser and tried to get one every time I rented a car for about a decade. But neither were as cool as the Volvo 1800 ES!

I'd take the Edsel station wagon's looks over the new bmw XM.

The Trabant was actually VERY successful! East Germans would have to wait 18 years to get one - and they did, no kidding! 😓 (this was how the socialist dream has worked out - and it always does)
Although one may say it was success out of necessity of having nothing else available. 🤔

The Aztek was screwed by corporate GM. The Bearclaw concept was Camaro/Blazer vehicle that was ahead of its time, which was the norm for Pontiac. GM green lit then gave them no budget and made them adapt it to a minivan platform. They fired anyone that said anything netsuke about the project even though focus groups hated what it turned into. The original concept was hot

Lauren, great list. Need to add - Chevrolet Chevette, and at least in the special mention wth? ugly department: Fiat Multipla, a car that looks for all the world like Jar Jar Binks, and the Datsun F10.
