Honestly, the Edsel was a well designed, well engineered car ahead of its time. I would buy one if I could afford one.

Honestly, the fact that the Pinto and Gremlin are on this list baffles me. They were, in fact, economical and dependable.

Pacer and Gremlin were two different and distinct automobiles.

It’s unbelievable that the Pinto made this list, but the Chevy Vega didn’t. The pinto was somewhat dangerous until the recall was performed. But after the recall was performed, the pinto wasn’t any more dangerous than any other small car at that time. And it was actually a decent car for that era. On the other hand, The Vega was simply junk almost from bumper to bumper. The engines were notoriously bad. And the body was notorious for prematurely rusting out.

The reliant was built for people that only had a motorcycle driving licence, they could also drive it on L plates on their own. In the UK it wasn't classed as a car but as a tricycle.

If you want a list of "worst" cars that is riddled with cliches and car choices based on design, then this is the list for you.

You mean to tell me the Vega wasn't on here???

so many of these arent bad cars, they just had a flaw.
the pinto was perfectly good, if you dismounted the rear bumper and trimmed the overlong bumper bolts down, so they couldn't puncture the gas tank. in every other way it was a serviceable small coupe. my family had several and never gave us a lick of problems

Cadillac Cimarron was a bad marketing decision, but Chevy Vega was a far bigger flaw. Dodge Aspen is also missing on the list. Bricklin was such an minor make, maybe it was a big disappointment, but who got the chance to buy one? There is too little experience and creativity behind this video.

The Edsel was no worse than any other car of 1958. A particularly bad recession that year was a big reason it failed to meet sales expectations, but every car makers sales dropped that year except Anerican motors whose compact economical Rambler sold well. As for the Edsel being loaded with gadgets, what about all the complex CRAP today's cars are loaded with?

The Vega should have been on the list.

The Pacer and the Gremlin were both sturdy, dependable cars of average quality, just like everything else AMC produced.

The Pontiac Aztek was kind of odd looking by the style standards of the day, but was well built and reliable.

The Ford Pinto was a sturdy little car at a time when nobody was building small cars

The Cadillac Cimarron's only flaw was in being a sturdy and well built Chevrolet at a Cadillac price. The Cavalier it was badge engineered from was one of Chevrolet's most popular models.

I wouldn’t say these were the worst cars- some may have been sales failures but worst?
I know it’s subjective but while I agree that the Yugo was a horrific car for North America, it was more reasonably well-suited to its home market. In America, it was slow, small, cheap and unloved, parts were expensive and hard to find- it was sort of a throw-away car. And they didn’t sell nearly enough of them.
However, in the countries that used to make up Yugoslavia, you can still find Yugos on the road. It’s not that the Yugo GV (as it was called in the US)was an engineering marvel but in its home country, parts were cheap, it was economical on fuel, any home mechanic could fix them, and they did what they were supposed to do; it provided affordable wheels for an emerging market (until the civil war derailed all such plans, sadly.) Worst car is very subjective - compared to a 1920s Model T Ford, the Yugo was like a Cadillac and nobody thinks the Model T was terrible for their day, do they?
I could make the case that several others on this list were far from “worst”.

WRONG about the Reliant Robin. Being a three wheeler, it enabled many UK Motor Cyclists to drive a small saloon car on a Motor Cycle Licence. Then with experience, move on and take the car driving test.

All cars are dangerous if the Nut holding the steering wheel is of poor quality.

The Reliant Robin was a very underestimated car. My uncle had one and used to fly around corners without a hint of rolling over. He used to scare the shit out of me!

Car number one shows both your bias and your inability to think for yourself. The Pacer was odd looking, yes, but there was nothing wrong with the car. AMC had very good engines, backed up by Chrysler TorqueFlyte automatic transmissions. The rest of the car was just as robust. I know of a number of people who bought these and had no problem at all with them. I gave up on the video right there and then.

Definitely amongst the top 10 worst videos I've ever seen. If you are looking for a cheaply made video that's of little educational or entertainment value. This is the one to choose.

you dont know what you are talking about, i owned a reliant robin and never once had any feeling that it would tip over, it had an all alloy 4 cylinder 850 cc engine mated to a sweet gearbox, 50mph and 50mpg, it was a great little car and reliant a massively underated company

Far from worst cars ever, it is just that Americans don't know what rest of world drives. Romania built some bad cars way worse than any of these - Dacia Lastun, Dacia Liberta, Dacia 1310, Oltcit Club.... So did Poland with FSO Polonez. Ukraine had ZAZ 968 and ZAZ Tavria/Slavuta. How about Khodro Paykan and Saipa Sabba of Iran? Have you heard of Geely and Brilliance and Xiali from Dogeaters Republic? Pretty much any car made there is atrocious. To add a few western clunkers into the mix - Renault 14 that rusted as if it was made out of newspapers, Renault 9 and 11 which were boring and uninspired, Austin Maestro/Montego, Fiat Ritmo/Strada, NSU Ro80....
