The dalmation thing is another interesting facet of history. They were bred to be fast and strong runners, so in the old day when there were still horse drawn carriages for the fire department, the dogs would run ahead of the horses and clear the streets so the fire department would get there faster.

That's why they are mascots for the fire department to this day.

I like how in this universe, people invented high-class architecture before ever deciding there was a need for firefighters.

He is truly one of the Firefighters of all time.

Something tells me this guy intentionally set his own house on fire just so he could start a new calendar genre.

In my daily life I started to use "I decided" whenever I want to convince my friends into unwanted situations. It's hilarous. Thanks Ryan.

I love how calm the dude is while his house burns down even going out of his way to start a business 🤣💀💀💀

Being a firefighter is super hard, quite the inconvenience

I can't get enough of Ryan's comedy. Pure gold every time.

The Ryanverse has more details worked out than 90% of Hollywood scripts.

I love how in the Ryan George Cinematic Universe they figured out how to build automobiles, modern building material manufacturing, modern home building, city planning, civil engineering, and polkadogs all before having a word for the hot stuff and the drinking stuff.

That calender idea may not be that bad of an idea. I'm sure if Ryan sold "the many faces of Ryan" calendar, he would make a decent profit cause we all love the ever increasing versions of Ryan 👍

If anyone was wondering, the reason that Dalmatians (polka-dot dogs) are commonly associated with fire departments and firefighters dates back to the 1800s, when firefighters used horse-drawn carriages to transport themselves and their equipment. Dalmatians often accompanied these firefighter carriages to help keep the horses on track, and also to guide other carriages off of the road so that the firefighters’ carriage didn’t collide with another persons carriage.
They also often served as guard dogs at fire stations, and this has helped reinforce the connection between Dalmatians and firefighting.

Ryan and Ryan really have fantastic chemistry. They’re perfect together.

When I was in kindergarten, my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I said a fireman. And she said "oh that's dangerous work you know, putting out fires". And so I said "no I don't want to be that kind of fireman, I want to be the kind of fireman that sets things on fire." So she said "No, no, no, that's not right. That's called an arsonist. The word for that is arsonist, not fireman. A fireman puts out fires." So from then on until first grade, when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I said an arsonist. But for some reason, my first grade teacher didn't like that answer either and then had a conference with my parents. My kindergarten teacher was cool though, she taught me the word arsonist.

“A polka-dog if you will.”
- “I will not!”
Love these little nuggets of humor in what’s already a seriously funny sketch.

I figured he wasn't going to be convinced to take this job until he discovered that the hot stuff was contagious and his house was in danger as well, but a polka-dog and never having to go down stairs is a pretty compelling benefits package too.

I never thought that I'd one day watch a man convincing himself to be a firefighter and then negotiate the perks with himself
Edit: It was just pointed out to me that the man on the left had a much more commanding mustache, therefore they're different people

It always amazes me how Ryan is able to grow another mustache over his regular mustache in order to play these roles. Truly a commitment to the craft.

“It’s about the freakin- THAT situation!” The way this man constructs his dialogue is perfect! So genuine, yet quirky at the same time! Love u, Ryan!

"You're going to be a genre of calendar" might be the single most flattering thing anybody has ever said, and Ryan just said it to himself
