Many thanks, Michele. I am 53 and 3 days after hyst, no pain just difficulty to get up. Still in hospital, getting pain killers, antiinflammatories and paracetamol every six hours. Your video about getting up from bed was most useful to me. Shoked to see so many young women on this channel. Wish everyone a great recovery!

Ah, but you forgot the all important cursing and whinging while adjusting your body in the bed fresh after the surgery. ;D I'm loving these videos. They are truly helpful!

Great advice, however I am three weeks into abdominal hysterectomy . I was fit and active pre surgery, normal weight .
I have to say side lying was NOT possible for me . I’m moving, doing 2 mins of a light mobility . Been doing light gardening and tidying the house but side lying was too painful even with pillows until week two and a half . At three weeks post surgery I am managing to sleep on my side . Please don’t worry if you can’t lay on your side in the first few weeks . It’s amazing when you can .

I am 1-week post-op, recommend sleeping on your back for first week, then try your side once most gases have released. (If laparoscopic)

I had robotic hysterectomy 2 days ago and there’s no way I could lay that flat right now. I have trapped gas and wouldn’t be able to breathe properly. find it more comfortable laying upright. Im really looking forward to going back to sleep normally though!

Thank you for this. It's been hectic post myomectomy on that hospital bed! Why do they not tell this to patients🤔

I just had my surgery, thankfully I found your video. I feel so much better laying down. They don’t give out this information at the hospital.
