How we ruin our 20s...

20s are a weird timeline in every person's life. It seems like you have an enormous amount of energy and time to do what you like, but at some point, you realize that you don't know how to use your time and energy, which leads to depression or lack of motivation. In this video, I will talk about problems that every person from 18 to 29 years of age encounters, and maybe I will help you solve one of them.

"An age where you're an old person around kids and a kid around all other adults" - is the best description, of what it feels like to be in your 20s, that I ever read

When you turn 29, you feel like your 20s ended 4 years ago. Enjoy it while it lasts (because it doesn't last long)
I'll come back in the blink of an eye and tell you what it's like to turn 40

SpongeBob is a good inspiration, he keeps trying no matter how often he fails (the fact that he hasn't gotten his driver's license despite years of trying), he is a member of his community and hangs out with his friends, helps his boss outside of work because he likes helping others, and he pursues happiness whenever he's bored by searching for new hobbies while still engaging with his life long hobbies like jellyfish catching.

Despite popular myth, SpongeBob isn't a kid while Squidward is an adult man, they're both adult men of similar age, they just choose to live different lives. SpongeBob isn't "childhood innocence" while Squidward is "adult cynicism", they're both adult men who have different philosophies and choose to engage their time in this ocean differently.

Squidward is a shut in who practices the clarinet without performing for anyone to get real time feedback while fantasising about everyone just liking him. SpongeBob goes out and engages with people when he learns new hobbies, that's why he's often more successful.

My 20s currently is the most despairing period of my life. I have zero hopes for future . I have nobody and there is no purpose in life . Just work, sleep repeat. Nothing changes

We ruined it by following all the rules and getting nothing in return. We studied, refrain from drugs and too much parties, helped at home, sometimes working for some money while we got our education, stayed fit (not gym fit, but healthy weight)...all that to get into late 20s and early 30s unemployed (working jobs who demand too much and pay too little), depressed, alone and with no hopes for owning a home and retiring like older generations did.
Thats when you know you threw away your whole life for scraps.

Life is not a game. Its very serious. This video just added more urgency for me. I need to be better. Wasting potential is worse than death.

Edit: I posted some advice in the replies. Its the most valuable thing i learned over the 5 months from commenting this. Go check it out.

Please keep in mind that tiktok and social media is an addiction so high dopamine levels =not wanting to face your problems. So boredom is a key factor in being present, aware of your reality, facing your problems and persuing your geals

I'm 27 and a quarter, and I'm just now seeing life for what it is. Trying to learn as much as I can while trying to heal from past trauma. It's never too late, but you should "wake up to reality" - madara Uchiha

Just turned 29 on April 19th. my 20's was a time of a lot of failures. Was still trying to figure out what I wanted to even do. Failed school on 3 attempts before success on the 4th. Found a career that I could do without hating my existence. But if there is anything I can say to those younger than me is to don't let the failures stop you. Yes, I know you want things to go s certain way and if they don't you think its the end of the world. But it's not. Even when you achieve that career, you need to continue improving. If you don't then you will get stuck in entry level. After two years of being at the entry level position for my job, I decided its time to improve and widen my skillset to move up. Success is not a one time thing. You must continue building to continue being successful. Those reading this, I pray you continue to keep going gentlemen and please take care of yourselves. Also remember to not worry about what you can't currently do. Focus on what you can do.

Just remember, no moment is wasted when you are alive.

Every second you spend conscious and aware of your own being is a moment well spent, even if those moments may be painful.

I went to university straight after school, but after graduating I didn’t feel like getting a “proper” job, so I just got casual jobs in hospitality and saved up and decided to travel, getting working holiday visas so I could work while I travel! 15 years later (at 36) I am now ready to start a career and settle down (which is not at all related to my degree) …. So don’t let society tell you where you should be in life, just go with your own flow :)

A lot of people actually say their 30s and 40s were better than their 20s. I’ll be 30 in 3 months and I’m looking forward to it.

I agree that motivation is absolutely fake in a state of workflow. Just throw yourself into the machine and the time will fly by. For better and for worse. I can't tell whether I'll be frustrated I didn't have interesting (risky/failure filled?) 20s when I get older, but I'm currently happy that I'm pushing my goals forward, one day at a time.

Hey you, yes, you. If you find this comment and it's one year old, ask me if I composed a song, made a painting and how my book is going. I want to see how far I'll get from here in that much time.

Learning from a mistake is one of the best things a person can do in their life. Provided it doesn’t cost them their life.
