Roku Simple Remote Not Working Troubleshooting Guide

In this video I go over some troubleshooting steps if your Roku Simple Remote is not working. I talk about making sure the Roku Device is visible to the Roku simple remote. If the Roku Device is hidden, or behind the TV, or has something in front of it, the Roku simple remote will not be able to communicate with it. I talk about making sure the batteries are installed the correct direction and replacing the batteries with new batteries. this particular device is worthless. I've tried everything on two different tv's. it just doesn't pick up any wifi signal at all. The new 4k streaming stick does work and picks up signal. roku needs to take the non working cheepies off the market.

Provided the batteries are not dead, just taking the batteries out and putting them back in again will make it start working again. It is not perfectly easy to pop the batteries out if you do not have long fingernails.

My right arrow button won’t work. That’s it. Every other button works fine except this button.

Few mos ago I got a new Roku Device/Remote.

That one sucked. I’d have to press the buttons like 20 times to get it to do anything. Then suddenly the power button wouldn’t work. I had to press the button on the Tv to get it on/off.

I don’t understand what’s wrong.

Is my Tv not letting remote connect.

Do I need new batteries for my remote?

I had to connect my old Roku remote to my Roku TV but the red light still on and I did settings no signal what can I do to fix my Roku and and do what I need to do

You don't need to buy a special tool to remove the batteries. It can easily be pried out with something as simple as a Butter Knife & follow his instructions.

PLEASE READ! I just fixed my remote! What happen is the GREEN LIGHT on my roku remote was stop blinking all the sudden, like it’s dead, no reaction at all. So I searched and tried all the ways on YouTube Google Facebook customer care etc. so I started changing batteries, reset, remote, reset TV, unplug and replug the TV and the Roku stick. NOTHING works! the remote just dead dead….I was like “maybe if I drop it on ground and it will work just like how I “fix” things when I was kid.” So I dropped the remote on ground naturally not like smash it! And that still NOT work, so DONT DO THAT! And then I was thinking why all the YouTuber was almost wising the same kind of batteries? (“same kind” cause I’m not sure if they are the same brand but they look the same) the rose gold with black color one, and I was using the silver with black color one ( sorry, I’m not sure the brand). Anyway, I putted some old batteries which is the rose gold with black, look exactly like the one in video, and I press the little button and the green light Not sure if this help but thanks for reading! ( if you tried all the ways like me, try this😂 worth to try, at less better than buy a new one and only work for 3days like me…)

So if you take those round things out from inside and check the plus and minus thingies and...whew! Im not a rocket scientist!
