I feel bad for Vader, but I also think it's funny that Obi-Wan has been living in his head this whole time, rent-free

Vader was so powerful at this time. I just don’t understand how he loses here. It was so frustrating to see. He beats him earlier and then is destroyed after.

I found it unacceptable…losing twice to Obi Wan takes away credibility from Darth Vader

Both fights show that while anger can give you strength, it blinds you and can set you up for defeat.

Great analysis. I agree with you, I don’t think Obi Wan is stronger or more powerful than Vader. I think Obi-Wan had a clear mind and a purpose greater than himself, which allowed him to be a more effective conduit of the force in that moment. Vader had nothing but blind hatred and revenge. Palpatine even said that his feelings weakened him.

It still made no sense for Obi-Wan to even beat Vader here or encounter him again until A New Hope.

I like SC38 Showed Vader became more powerful and calm the last time he fought Kenobi he really did best and countered all the attacks that really led to his defeat even getting in good hits like few punch’s the force push and slicing his leg at least seemed like Vader had found some comfort and acceptance and finally stop playing around and finish the job it’s then makes more sense then not Obi wan killing Vader the second time at least because he couldn’t in the end and needed Luke to stop him instead of he’s still his best friend so let rest of the galaxy suffer under him because that’s really is stupid

I think the only real reason was Kenobi had to survive, because of Episode 4.

So here is the problem...

Obi-Wan: -uses force to lift rocks.-
Vader: "...Please..."- force shoves them down on Obi-wan because HIS FORCE OUTPUT IS HIGHER!-

Vader doesn't lose to this guy again, hes not conflicted. Vader has stronger force out put, unless you're telling me Vader was so arrogant he decided he wanted to cut the rocks down instead of using his much stronger connection to the force ( The chosen one now) to simply take those rocks away?

His new high ground was "I'm going to cut those rocks with brute strength!"

Pure fucking plot. This is a PRIME Darth Vader, who was completely unstoppable. The only 2 who could stop him at this point in time would be Sidous and Yoda. The whole Galaxy knew not to fuck with him, and here comes Obi wan out of a 10 year retirement with Disneys powers.

obi let vader defeat him to strengthen luke in the long term. obi always had the edge on vader. wonder what raven could of done to either of these two. what could yoda have done?

At this point he really is broken beyond repair physically, mentally, emotionally and psychologically

I'm mad for the end of this show. Letting Obi-Wan win against Vader at this point ruin all the mean of the original trilogy! These authors don't know star wats, these author let Obi-Wan win just because this was his show and because Vader is the villain. They admit that in the original script Vader win the duel and believe Obi-Wan was dead, but at the end they change for marketing and other stupid things... sadly we don't get Filone to direct this show a but Debora Chow that prove himself as a terrible star wars director.

Finally watched this and ya obi wan shouldn't have beaten Vader, not like it was portrayed anyway.
Made no sense.

So according to George Lucas, Obi-Wan is better than Anakin/Darth Vader? Since Obi-Wan has now beaten Anakin twice and the only time he lost was in the 1970s/1980s film and even then he purposely gave up?

Obi Wan has always been wiser than Anakin/Vader.

then there was luke in his prime where he would of defeated anyone that ever controlled the force! Would love to see that movie.

I liked this series more than the prequels honestly. At least Vader was more menacing. The story and characters were more interesting. I don't really mind that Obi wan beat him as he's kind of broken despite being strong in the force. His body is a shell. He's overly emotional. My only major qualm is that he didn't kill him. That's the main thing that bothers me. I also didn't like the third sister as a bad guy. I kind of new that she would end up good. She never really seemed threatening to me despite her bravado.
