Now you can do this by trying to reset Windows 10 via the settings app. But, if you were do do that, you would only get the option to not lose files. You would still lose your apps.

This is why the Media Creation Tool is the best way to keep your apps while reinstalling Windows 10.

Sorry a couple of questions. So is this like windows refresh? but instead of losing apps I get to keep them? Does it overwrite the old windows system files or make a copy? (I don't have space for both). My computer came from the shop with windows pre installed, I have 0 idea of the license key, will it delete my old one or should it pick up my computers original one? Hi I have tried this process a few times 4months ago with MCT 21H2 on a lap top and pc both win 10 pro 64 bit and it worked perfectly. I need to do this process again now with my PC as it is malfunctioning with some processes and the current MCT is the same but it gets stuck after about 5 steps and the window that gives those 3 choices "Keep personel files and apps" doesn't appear at any stage and eventually after all the following steps, Downloading, Verifying, Creating W10 Media, Progress, Set Up is cleaing up B4 it closes (which is strange), Preparing, Checking for Updates, Restarting..!(which doesn't happen), then just a blank window with no activity for hours...! Can you help please...? Thank you.

Hi. I followed the steps and reinstalled windows. i am not sure if the problems have been fixed yet but I have noticed that I have less storage space than before (95GB instead of 120GB (before). I have tried disk cleanup and system cleanup to delete old versions of windows but still the same issue. I only have 95GB storage space left. Can you help out?
