How To Reinstall Windows 10 Without Losing Apps, Data Or Files

Let's show you how to reinstall Windows 10 without losing your apps, data, or files.

In this video, I walk you through the steps to reinstall Windows 10 on your laptop or desktop without losing any of your apps, data, or files. Open a browser and enter "Windows media creation tool" and click on the Windows link. Under "Create Windows 10 Installation Media" click on Download and then open the file when it has finished downloading and then run it. Click on Change What To Keep and ensure that "Keep personal files and apps" is selected. Then click on install.

for anyone wondering if this still works by this day, it does I did it 5 mins ago, I kept all my games and apps and settings and e mails everything is here, only the windows is reinstalled. Btw very much thanks to this channel for this. :)

12/29/23 worked for me. Pc was freezing up constantly and was slow as hell, once it finished deleted history, cookies and cache, . Pc is like runs like new. Nothing was lost or changed after installation, couldn't be happier. Thx Trevor.

As of Late December 2024, This still works, absolutely NOTHING has been lost, nothing has been changed (except my sound output because I use elgato wavelink, fixed in 2 minutes). Thank you so much, great video.

Thank you @TrevorNace! I was going about needing to reinstall Windows (inadvertently corrupted the Windows Store) and really didn't want to reinstall everything and set each and every thing up! I was going to go about it with this method, but I still panicked worried it wouldn't retain anything other than the basics (I did the other recovery method before believing it might). Thanks. Might do this one day cus my PC has been running i wouldnt say slow but it has been through some issues where it doesnt feel as fast anymore as it was before in time and i really wanted to fresh install Windows 10. I just didnt want to lose files and applications.
