How to Reinstall Windows 10 Without Losing Data

We have all had trouble with our computers from time to time and we all hate doing a fresh install of Windows, but if you are having the follow computer problems with Windows 10, you can do a repair install.

When is a good time to use repair install for Windows 10?

* Windows start menu not working.
* Windows apps not working.
* Corrupt system files.
* Malware done damage to operating system.
* Failed Windows 10 updates and upgrades.
* Windows Update that has corrupted the operating system.

There are many other reason for doing a repair install of Windows 10, as long as you can get to the desktop, you should be OK to continue. You can't do a repair install from a booted Windows 10 USB or CD.

Britec you truly are a Windows guru. Your videos are excellent. You have shown me tweaks and fixes other experts could not. Reinstalling Windows 10 without data lost was an amazing find for me. I second Trevor's comment below. My problem was looping at startup causing the computer to shut down every time it was started after being turned off. Had to constantly use USB flash repair tool to revert back to previous backup to start the computer. Fair warning this process can take hours to download and complete. Well worth the time. All programs and files remained intact. Thanks again for your valuable service!

After days of attempts to Fresh Start and Reset, failing each time, then trying all the advice and Microsoft forums telling how you should use a USB boot and do this and that incorrectly. failing every single time, your process worked! I was dubious, but am happy to say it fixed my issue with Windows 10 Home. Thank you very much! :)

I had this problem for months and had (qualified ???) IT Technicians telling me it was impossible to reinstall Windows 10 without losing Applications/Programs, Data and Files, and personal settings.
This sounded too good to be true - but I was so frustrated I tried it - AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY.
Congratulations to Britecs Channel - you guys are now my favourite and I am indebted to you. I have since stuck it up the so-called computer experts who are amazed that my Desktop PC works as well as it did when it was first installed without the loss of ANYTHING. Congrats to all concerned. It really works! I had an issue where I could not type anything on windows 10 programs like settings, search bar, etc. It took me about 1 hour to complete all the steps on this video. Everything is fixed and all my files and apps are still there. Great work!!
