Pros & Cons Of Having A 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro For One Week

In this video I go over the pros and cons of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro after having it for one week. The ISO Dynamic seats are amazing for off road use, however, day to day driving I see these being a con for Toyota. They should maybe consider having them as an option in the future. Also, the hood on the TRD Pro Tacoma shakes a bit! Aside from that, that power was amazing and this truck was built SOLID.

Also, IDK why YouTube distorts the driving audio. This is the second time this has happened. It sounds great on my computer but once it is on YT it's bad. I will look into this. Sorry.

Unless you are some hardcore Tacoma fanboy or someone loaded with cash, how can anyone justify spending $68k for this. It’s like $10-13k overpriced for what you get. It should be no more than $55k.

The ISO seats are an absolute deal breaker!!! I didn’t know it was a manual back recline. That is also lame at the price. Drop the price $2000-$3000 for those seats. Make that an option for the customer to choose!

No hood struts?!?

Nice review!

You said it best in the video, they made the TRD Pro a bit too niche with forcing the Isodynamic seats as mandatory rather than an option. Extra cost, less comfortable, making leg room obsolete, just a big head scratcher. If I had to pick a Taco it’d be the Burnt Bronze Trailhunter for sure.

Toyota was so proud of themselves for designing new 4th gen Tacoma and in reality, it's still a few steps behind the competition and the price certainly is nowhere near where it should be.

The options in the trd pro are nice. However, what people really want is power and the ranger raptor delivers aV6 with power.

Wow…an 18 minute video of the pros & cons of owning a vehicle FOR ONE WEEK. Let that sink in. Toyota must be paying you good money, Jon.

Best option is probably to get hybrid off road and mod it yourself for basically same price. You wont pay for the gimmick and you can have a more unique truck.

It's insane that this is 68k vs a full sized tundra being around 70k. For the side/power/price just getting the trd pro is the more "economic" option. I get things typically get more expensive over time but for a midsize truck that's crazy. They have really priced out a lot of folks. The features in the trd pro taco is nice but I feel like they missed the mark especially for the price.

These are the kind of things that keep people working and never retire. Stay in debt your whole life for material things that never add to your life.

I test drove the iforce max power train and it’s really impressive. I did not expect the instant power lol.

In Puerto Rico the TRD Pro is selling in the 80k area..

I’m glad to see someone who’s reviewing from a utility perspective and not from a fanboy perspective. I think this truck is too expensive, too niche, and under-engineered. The Ranger Raptor is almost better in all perspective and doesn’t have all the gimmicks this TRD Pro has.

Never driven a Ranger Raptor but I have the F-150 Raptor with the 37 package and that truck is a marvelous piece of engineering. Comfortable on road and capable off-road. I used to drink the Toyota cool aid with the reliability but now that I’ve driven this truck for 40K miles with 0 issues, I’m not sure when I’m gonna get a Toyota truck again. Compare to the competition, Toyota trucks are just behind in almost all perspectives.

Great video, very informative. Question. can both seats be replaced for other kinds? to have more space in the back? please advise. thanks

Watch the car care nuts video on this truck. He points out a lot of shoddy craftsmanship.

I'm still trying to understand this truck. On one hand you have some really awesome things like the ARB rear bumper, suspension, and off road lights. On the other hand you have some half thought out rocker guards that attach to the body instead of the frame, no leg room in the rear, and a flimsy hood scoop. It's very obvious multiple teams worked on this truck and some did really well while others not so much. Given the premium price, this is a hard pass for me. Still loving my 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro.

My biggest gripe with the Tacoma is the smaller fuel tank size. The previous gen was 21.1 gal and the current gen is 18.2 gal. Can they really not fit it a bigger fuel tank?

Have been having the same issue with my hood wobbling around when driving around. Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this hope they address it

Great review. 100% agree this is a niche truck, but not as good as the Raptor for the niche purpose, that's my opinion anyway. I dig the looks....that back seat though....geez.
