Being a parent..Cons: when they're small, tired all the time...Pros: your life is enriched beyond measure and the love for those little people is immeasurable. My kids are now 19 and 21 and being in their presence is my favourite time...magical!!!

Amen to what Ben says about that incredible, fierce love for your child. I have a 33 year old and still when he hurts I really feel it down in my soul. I love, love newborns. Women definitely enjoy the infant stage. Those firsts are outstanding. Especially when they first laugh out loud it's the best thing ever.

He's right about newborns imo. Once your kid hits around 4 or so and starts to have interests and opinions of their own, they're fascinating. It also makes you better at explaining things to everyone because you learn quickly that explaining the simplest things that you take for granted takes some doing initially.

But babies, they just poop, cry and sleep and make sure you never get any sleep.

I have 2 boys and we had a new baby girl about 8 months ago. The protective feeling you have with your boys gets multiplied by a vast amount when you have a little girl.

Yep! Newborns are boring. 2yrs 3yrs started getting fun for me. Hes 5 now and talking up a storm and started reading 1st grade books. We have been reading to him since birth. No joke. Read to your kids. Read read read to them.
